In Europe, and Asia most people and casual rap fans don't really understand lyrics so rappers like 50 cent and snoop dogg are way more popular than jay overseas

Ain't it crazy? In the states hov is considered god but overseas he's just Beyoncé husband :ohhh:

you got it ass backwards

a lot of people understand english overseas:

She raised how clout levels everywhere. Jay Z without Beyonce and Ye would be really interesting. Both have been his saving grace. Beyonce in the media world and Ye musically.

Ppl outside of the US didn't give af about Jay-Z until he became Beyonce's husband

Nah, "Hard Knock Life", "Can I Get A", "Big Pimpin" and :H To The Izzo" all did that for him.

I remember going to high school parties and everyone would play "Frontin" for the Hov verse and "99 Problems" and "Dirt Off Your Shoulder" were constants.

Was he as big as Dre, Snoop or 50? No, but he was right up there before the Beyonce stimulus.

shyt I'd say Kanye's success actually gave him a bigger push during the mid 2000s than anything Beyonce related.

proving the OPs point :ohhh:

That doesn't prove the OP's point. It's the opposite actually. When Jay dropped BP2, Beyonce's solo career was jumpstarted by her feature on "Bonnie & Clyde". The rumors started that summer when they went on vacation together. Beyonce had "Work It Out" before Jay featured her, but her own solo single flopped. The album was pushed back and her label told her she didn't have a hit. She came out with "Crazy In Love" featuring Jay Z and the rest is history.

Let ya'll tell it, Beyonce MADE Jay Z, when actually her own solo career didn't have a spark UNTIL Jay Z.

were he was with beyonce like OP said :mjlol:

But he wasn't big because of Beyonce, they just happened to be together at the same time. Noone gave a shyt about that. Matter of fact he actually gave her the spark she needed with his verse on "Crazy In Love".

Fact is from Hard Knock Life to The Blueprint Jay built the foundation for his pop success. I didn't even know they were together until "03 Bonnie & Clyde", noone cared about that shyt. The music was more important and he was the bigger star anyway.

03 bonnie and clyde was in 2002, jay was not known outside usa hiphop until beyonce.

After that interview, the two were often spotted out together. - A Complete... - Capital XTRA

his biggest selling LP is HKL2 thanks to annie, swizz, and the mainstream appeal thanks to em and others pushing hiphop out. he sold 5 million and since never been a big seller. first number one was an alicia keys remake BP3 lol, dude would not even be booked on jimmy kimmel if it wasnt for beyonce. facts.

Before "Bonnie & Clyde", Beyoncé's solo career was where? Meanwhile, Jay had multiple multi-platinum albums. And LOL at the Swizz comment. Breh, Jay's singles with Swizz were some of his least successful. In fact, he helped Ruff Ryders more than they helped him. The biggest song off Ryde or Die Vol. 1 is his solo song.

And his version of "Empire State of Mind" is the original version. Alicia Keys' version without Jay Z is the remake, which was nowhere near as big. Then you mention Jimmy Kimmel. Jay Z was a superstar selling millions of records before you even knew Jimmy Kimmel existed.

im out, before her solo career she was part of the biggest RnB group of all time breaking all TLC's records. :mjlol:

rest is fan boy, jay is a nobody still to this day outside beyonce. no kids want to be him, dude is a corn who is no ones number one favorite outside NY and thats questionable. dude is bland and not star material, no reason for jimmy kimmel, letterman or anyone to fck with him.

like jamie foxx stated in 1999 in an LA famous house party no one knew him. :mjlol:

Key word a part of a GROUP. Her success as a part of Destiny's Child didn't translate into solo success, which is irrelevant when your label isn't confident in you as a SOLO artist to the point that they are telling you that you have no hits:

According to the Destiny’s Child member, however, music executives at Columbia Records weren’t initially confident about her success outside of the group. During a 2011 concert, the Houston native recalled the label’s lukewarm response to her debut solo album, Dangerously in Love, which was released exactly 16 years ago today.

“They told me I didn’t have one hit song on my album,“ Beyoncé told the crowd at New York’s Roseland Ballroom, according to a Rap-Up concert review. "I guess they were kind of right. I had five.”

No if he isn’t big overseas.
Bey isn’t as huge in certain areas overseas as they’d lead you to believe

I dont live in the US breh, and Jay was definitely popping before anyone had any idea they were together.

Have they been mutually beneficial to each others career? Absolutely, but Jay gave her the spark she needed to go solo, and she have him a boost to his relevance down the track.
