Combining the two into one thing when you have superior numbers and 1,000s of years of social conditioning behind you leads to a slippery slope.
You know how there are more bad white people in general because there are simply more white people?
Think about it like this. Black women outnumber black men. There are bad black men and bad black women in equal numbers on both sides.
There are more black women with a platform than black men, due to educational factors and people being a bit more comfortable around feminine energy.
This is also why gay black men have more success in the working/academic world..and in media. c00ns, too. There are great deal of black women with good intentions, I'd say MOST have good intentions. You simply can't ignore the overlap. Y'all are the majority WITHIN our minority, and that growing subgroup of extremists within your ranks is VERY LOUD...and not so tiny. I'd bet there are 10 "Don't have any more black babies, I hope you die in the street" intersectionality feminists, for every irrational, poisonous "hotep" if you want to call them that. The MAN advantage doesn't exist with black men. You can't use the sexism card to bring us to heel, thinking we're oppressing you, when we simply don't have the numbers or resources. This is similar to the racism vs prejudice argument. Men can do a lot of individual shyt to fukk women over, this is true. Rape...Murder..Harming Children...Abandoning them. Women, on the other hand, have the power of social destruction. How many men have been sent off because of regretful lies? I know a veritable graveyard and prison. Y'all can use the police, they'll just kill you too...
You get what I'm saying, right? I can fully understand your perspective, please make an attempt to understand mine.
I appreciate you trying to understand my perspective but I don't think you did. But I do think its a step in the right direction to try to conversation where insults aren't hurled despite the fact that based on your posts, I know we won't agree with each other. Here we go:
No, there are not as many bad BW as there are BM. BW are not abusing and killing each other or BM at the same levels as the reverse. BM must stop hiding from these truths if they want to actually improve the community. Stop thinking it absolves us as BW of the horrible behavioral practices we have either, because it doest. But we can't attack a problem without accepting the whole truth.
I also don't know what you mean about Black women having more of a platform. How? You have much more social currency and power than we do. Its just you often use it to our detriment as a community (referring to music and film/tv). But in sports there is starting to be a resurgence of you using that social currency positively which is great.
Politically, you have more influence there too and always have. We just saw the first BW senator voted in since 1999 and she's just the second ever. There have been many BM in that seat, to the tune of 9. The gap is even bigger in the House and Supreme Court. You've also been elected POTUS. We've never even had the support to make nominee. You also lead politically on a community level, as you head churches, boards, more than we do.
Economically, well you have seen the stats. Despite all Black women's strides in education, you still make more and have far more wealth.
This is all a result of male privilege that, no, does not magically skip over you. We aren't favored over you and never have been because we live in a white
patriarchal society. Despite being hated for your race, you will always be on the favored side of things when it comes to gender, even if unintentionally. Whether you want to accept that privilege is up to you the same way it is up to white people to accept theirs, but it exists and there is overwhelming evidence to show it does.
I can't speak for gays, but BW are not just being given jobs by white supremacy. We earn it. You guys should stop trying to patronize BW or reduce our hard work to some fake favoritism when we are easily put at the bottom of the favoritism pile considering we are both women and Black.
Please understand you don't have to actively be controlling the structure of oppression to benefit from it. White women were able to vote as they always have instead of changing their behavior to vote against Trump because even though they don't control white supremacy entirely, they still benefit from its provisions often because of their whiteness. Similarly, just because black men don't actively control patriarchy and sexism (at least here in the US) they
do benefit from its provisions sometimes because of their maleness.
Asking Black women to sacrifice and accept being lesser than based on either thing is not something a growing number of Black women are interested in. If you can't understand how that takes away from our humanity and is an unreasonable expectation, in
my opinion, again I am making sure to speak for me, we will never be on the same page.
