It's very clear to me that Brunson is a true 1st option and definitely a closer. The Knicks despite KATs talent fall off sharply after that. They really have a bunch of utility guys and no real 2nd stars which is much needed to take you to the next level. KAT is too soft and inconsistent to be that guy. They have to swing for the fences again now to see what they can get for him. Thibs also needs to go.

Champions league
Pretender/fraud Teams that peaked at ECF level and never came close again:

1997 heat
2000 knicks
2001 bucks
2002 Celtics
2004 pacers
2007 jazz
2009 nuggets

2013 grizzlies

2013-2014 pacers
2015 hawks
2017 Celtics
2019 blazers
2021 clippers

2016 raptors…. but three seasons later, they traded derozan to San Antonio for Kawhi/danny green and Jonas valunciunas/delon Wright to Memphis for Marc Gasol, and won their first ever title.

The thing is alot of those 2010 teams had Bron in the way . Without Bron they would have made the finals like those raptors team it was always Bron. Dude knocked us out of the playoffs time and time again

No way. Tyrese would not be used the same way on the Knicks. Brunson would eat the Knicks alive with the spacing the Pacers have. I still think Brunson is better but it’s alot closer than I want to admit.

No way, Brunson can not do everything Haliburton can do. He's not even a pass first PG which Haliburton is. Only thing he's better at is getting consistent buckets but even then he can ball hog too much at times and he's. A liability defensively

It’s so funny to see how many people act like their digital footprint doesn’t exist cause Haliburton hade 2 solid series :mjlol:

Even heard Bill Simmons and them tryna trash every team that passed on him in the draft and the Kings too on some “what were they thinking, everyone could see that…”
Bill was upset the suns didnt draft him from the beginning

Nesmith has made Brunson work so hard in this series.

I wonder if Thibs is capable of finding a way to exploit Nesmith, or if he’s not able to due to talent limitations on the Knicks.

It sure feels like Nesmith and Siakam are killing them.

And yes, Haliburton is feasting. But those other two guys are putting in work at critical times.

OKC gonna give both teams hell .

no that doesn’t make him a fake great player

It just means it’s damn near impossible for a small guard to be the leader of your offense and win . There is a cap on what you can accomplish
When that small guard is playing the point but doesn’t pass the ball, like Iverson, yeah it’s damn near impossible.
