Indiana’s depth probably got Thibs switching up

Maybe try a zone?
Indy's passing is too good for the zone imo. They'd pick that apart. You need to switch or if you're gonna have players stay at home, they have to hedge at the level of the screen. KAT was in constant drop coverage and OG got caught in the same drop coverage. That's especially bad when you're protecting a big lead late.

The biggest benefit of letting Boston pick out mismatches was that they kept leaving OG and Bridges on lesser threats. That meant one of the two was always in position to be the weakside help, and they ate up the passing lanes. I was excited to see how that'd work against a pass-heavy offense like Indy but we never got the chance.

One disclaimer though: I'd have everyone going under or in drop coverage when TJ Mcconnell is on the rock. I'd rather let him take loosely contested pull-up jumpers than have him driving past players that went over screens.

They were doing pretty fine while he was on the bench. He did this shyt in the pistons series and we lost those games too. He gets tunnel vision sometimes. Best game of the playoffs was game 6 against the Celtics when he picked his spots and let everyone cook. He needs to get back to that. KAT should have been the one with 40 tonight…
To be fair, Brunson gave OG a pass right on the damned hands under the rim and OG fumbled the passed and lost the ball to Siakim (great defensive play by Siakim either way). I think the bigger problem was taking Mitch off the floor rather than putting Brunson in for Deuce. Mitch doesn't give half the space KAT does in drop coverage.

I'm still shocked the Knicks lost. To lose a game at home where you're up 14 with like 150 seconds to go... a game you get 40+ from Brunson and 35/12 from KAT - that is a bitter, bitter pill to swallow.

If the Knicks come back and win this series, all respect to them it's gonna be almost impossible to pull themselves off the mat after this one.

The main issue is they gotta figure out what to do with Brunson defensively. Pacers are hunting him relentlessly on the defensive end

I really hope thibs is fired. He needs to retire from coaching. That fluke boston series win made him loom like he knows what he's doing and carlisle has outcoached him.

Should have rested his players on game 6 entire 4th quarter. They got now tired by the end of 4th quarter of this game. Missing free throws and shyt.
He was never a great coach

The hot takes about Thibs being fired and Bridges defense being overrated is insane.

nikkas are goofies with this bullshyt.
Seriously. Like you were up 14 points with that little time left. That’s more on the players than anything. And Bridges is still a good defender. Halliburton just dope like that. How they blaming just them. That’s on everybody

Knicks fans are the worst fans in sports
