Very good point. I did think for a second, "Yea, I don't have money to do all these things", but then I remember I play video games with my friends or just hang out at someone's house/bar and those aren't expensive at all

Basically my same train of thought. Watching a game with some friends is free

Friendship is free....what costs money is ego tripping and thinking you need anything besides an open heart to be a good friend. We've been conditioned to be so transactional that we check our bank balance before we call the homies to show love. I've been guilty of it myself as retarded as it is.

Man just go to someone’s crib and play uno and BYOB and whatever else you do and chill.

We’re in our 40s and 50s my husband and I have a lot of friends and family. We only spend a lot of money when it’s something special but for the most part we just hang. I had a book club meeting Saturday night and we had a great time I spent maybe $100 personally.

But for the low wage and unemployed they need to just hang and be cheap.

Having a real non-online social life is an important part of human development.

problem is really rent too high really.

could get an apartment for like 800 back in the day. a car was like $3000 to $5000. that was the foundation for chillin especially in the summer time.

an Italian cheeseburger was like 3.25... them joints like $8 now. aint no more dollar menu. i feel bad for these kids

you can eat pizza at home or go to some bullshyt restaurant with a flower wall

which you think most people wanna do...or rather feel they have to do to artificially keep up

or tickets to a concert that starts at around 300 bucks for seats that might as well be on Saturn

This generation is just lame and selfish

Never in a million years would I allow money to come between whether or not to kick it with the homies

Ain’t nothin too expensive about getting some chips and soda (or liquor for those who partake) and kick back with your peoples at they or your spot.

Wack shīt is this gen, like the last couple before them, plan events that cost too much $ from the jump.

This gen is just saying fůck it and not going while the ones before would spend the money knowing damn well it was going to hurt their pockets.

In present day you have broke people still trying to rock like it’s 20 years ago, plan pricey trips, parties and dinners just for optics and clout on IG. Some can afford it, the vast majority simply can’t.

If you have younger cousins and nephews in their early 20s or late teens you really see how broke they are. A lot aren’t working or just sit around in their self-built delusional world acting like they don’t see the price of everything being crazy. Add that with their trash social skills and you have a gen that’s largely slated to just be grown ass bums

process the biggest scam. every time something happen they go up. i remember when gas prices was super high like 5 a gallon the flights got expensive. gas went lower but the flights still high af

car dealerships the biggest offenders right now. they realize if they send only a few cars they can keep this artificial scarcity going and wont never have to negotiate on price.

Dog you hit it 1000% on the head. :ohlawd:

The bolded for emphasis. This one chick I know is obsessed with spending like it’s 20 or 25 years ago planning these trips and always wanting to be out on the scene. She’s one of those girls from the Lil’ Kim Foxy Brown era…

She has a good job, but the majority of her friends and peers aren’t able to be out and about like her

Yeah I'm confused by this too. Me and my folks would get together to this day and buy wings some liquor and just kick it and BS and that's not too costly. I do see a lot of folks trying to live these high class lives with middle wage salaries. But like you said if y'all fall out over someone not being able to attend because they're money ain't right at the moment than y'all were never truly friends. I seen chics do this all the time.
