Th
Fair enough let me elaborate. I figured you guys would just look it up and start applying. Anyway basically most large companies (think samsung, apple, cigarette companies, etc) hire promotional companies who have mployyes who represent the brand. So while doing this most of the time the company either just wants a little of the customers information so they can send them future deals or want you to try to get them to purchase or sign up for something specific. You'd usually do things like this at a kiosk in a retail store or venue. Sometimes there is salary+commission sometimes straight salary (more common I think).
Thank you...as soon as i seen this thread i searched it on Indeed...Asics ia paying 15, i think i'll apply...i need a part time gig badly lol

:patrice: I almost got roped into an aggressive sales position poised as a Brand Ambassador. I had people telling me the position was cool but it was practically cold calling in real life. I live in New York so you see these people everywhere on the street with a company t-shirt and what looks like an iPad. What they wanted me to do is randomly go up to people and try to sell product to them on the spot, hundreds a day all on commission. From what was said there was an opportunity to leave that position after a month to advance to small time office management and eventually opening your own satellite office in under a year. Wasn't for me so I ain't take the position :yeshrug: something ain't seem right about it to me.

Just be aware that it is marketing so you got to be a smooth, charismatic speaker that can sell something brehs. At times the marketing company is selling whatever it is that makes them the most money so it might not always be a product you're excited about. You can make good money and supposedly there are opportunities for fast tracked advancedment but that money comes from delivering the exact same sales pitch hundreds of times a day.

I wasn't told about going to any events or having any type of kiosk just straight standing on the street corners of NY sellin product:stopitslime:

The ones you talking about man are the ones you need to avoid unless you think your built for it but F the lack of security look it up man you can find those nice easy BA jobs that pay decent. Some selling skills required but nothing too heavy. Mostly personality.

You think it's worth going another round with them?:patrice: You think it's just an NY thing? I'm an introvert with a low voice but I can give an :obama: speech when needed. If I was speaking/presenting to small groups or at least interested & knowledgable customers I'm sure I can do it but my job search, no matter what I applied for, turned into direct sales with "uncapped earning potential" and "opportunities to own your own office in year"

The company I interviewed for seemed cool but that lacky work :scust:I wouldve burned myself out for that bs. I got little money but I can keep spending it on these outings for aggressive sales breh. Tips on how to weed out the good from the bad?

If this is you then I wouldn't recommend it. You aren't going to find a company that is going to just give you (seemingly someone inexperienced) a handful of warm leads to sell. Most companies have you starting at the bottom before you are just doing presentations. That's usually not entry level stuff.

good luck though :manny:

But how can you tell the difference between the one your talking about and the one HE talking about?

Is their certain language on as to avoid or do you know when you get to the interview

Absolutely not don't take it bruh and it's in the text most of the time when you look up the job (IE they tell you a salary or describe it) if you aren't certain always green glass door it (website that other people report what the job is like/pays). @blackgentlemenvoice I just explained how you know, now honestly what works for me is to be happy and try to speak as well as possible for the interview and what that means is both the fluidity and scope of your vocabulary. People think I'm intelligent as hell just because I can speak well.Promotional Model/Brand Ambassador - Miami, FL - Indeed Mobile
Look at this as an example of what your looking for.

@Rose Gold it ain't that serious bruh:russ:. Also, yes infinite better than warehouse. If you have little retail sales experience make it up with personality in the interview.
