You hear that fellas? Our bosses born in the 1950s and 60s know what is best for us young people who aren't earning much money.

:mjlol:

Old heads mad because they spent 40+ years trapped in a cubicle with no freedom and wanna keep that shyt going to maintain the status quo as they get ready to retire in a few years anyway :camby:

It’s 2022 and we moving different now

The Truth
Miss out on traffic, parking, bosses micromanaging or being in your face, long redundant speeches that could be sent by email, training (that are usually done over a PowerPoint), etc.

I don’t mind my bosses but half the time they don’t really do shyt but run their mouths or TRY to catch people slipping… completely irrelevant to MY job.

I talk to my supervisor more about football and shyt outside of work than actual work :stopitslime:

From what I've observed throughout da pandemic, it's unbearable for many to be at home and A LOT people view their homes as prisons. Also, a lot of people associate their self worth or value with their chosen professions/occupations.

This is another aspect people don't consider.

The more I interact with people online is the more I realise it is a mistake to form conclusions based on what is said on message boards and Twitter (said for dramatic effect. I already new this).

The internet is more likely to attract the views of introverts. People who look at coffee talk with scorn and prefer to be left on their own.

Most people don't fall into that category. I don't mind working for home, but there are parts of going into the office that I miss. The general communication in between tasks and being able to leave work in the office.

utter bs. It's a candidate market out there for jobs. In my company, people work for 6 months then quit and earn 40% more. They're all like 22 years old. It's insane how fast people are leaving and being scooped up. There is no better time to be young and slightly experience in a field.

If only the job market was like this back in the late 2000s when I was just out of college :wow:

Back then you couldn't find a job for shyt unless you knew somebody.

For experienced professionals, remote work is a dream come true.
  • Less time wasted on commuting
  • Less interaction with people you might not like so less stress and irritation
  • more time to have deep focus and really get your best work done
  • more efficient use of downtime to do time wasting chores around the house making your evenings and weekends really your free time
  • You can eat anytime so less money wasted on eating out randomly and lunch preps
  • More time to schedule appts like annual health check ups or car oil changes
  • Less of a need to unwind after work

For younger new employees, it could be a fukking nightmare
  • Less onboarding experience
  • Less people to shadow/copy for your new role
  • Less info to figure out the workings of the company
  • Less situational and observational awareness opportunities
  • Less network insight to related things that might help you in your role or career
  • More blind spots because only your superior is checking in on you

The best solution is hybrid on and offsite schedules, to get best of both worlds

They want you to be miserable so you spend money on stuff to make yourself happy. To spend money you gotta work.

Thry want you to be out of shape so you absolutely need insurance for doctor visits. Gotta work to have insurance

And they want you to always be buying a new vehicle to drivr there, which requires money
all this. you start looking at how many people make money off us while we're out and you can see why people want you back at work. All the way down to the vending machine guy and the janitor service. People aint at the office, they got nothing to clean. Vending machine guy making zero dollars. The person that plows the company parking lot in the winter being told he not needed this year because nobody is coming to the building.
