There are new artists that have come out and had hits in the last few years and had their albums come and go, artists who came out pre-2006 don't have much of a chance. He had a great 8 or 9 year run and dropped an all time classic mixtape and a borderline classic debut album. Idk what type of numbers you're expecting him to do at this point.

But for real it's not surprising. It's hard for a rapper to stay relevant for more than 5-6 years.

There's obvious exceptions but all the rappers that came up in the mid-2000s are all replaced by Kodak Black or 21 Savage.
