It's the expression of a lived reality. The systems that create that reality are anti black. The music is made by kids venting their trauma through music and poetry. If you don't like what they talk about change their environment and opportunities and their mindstate will change. Drill music will eventually lose popularity and the killing will still be there because nothing is being done to fix the issues.

They got to want to change. Brothers have moved to beautiful locations with access to those resources and still be on fck shyt.

If thats all you know, and you don't have daily interaction with positive people, you going to keep doing fck shyt. No matter how much money you have.

Why don’t you have the capability to do both? You’re smart right?
It’s a disingenuous argument to begin with. No black person in their right mind is okay with senseless violence.

Blaming rap music is a tactic used by governments and law enforcement (on all levels) to deflect from the responsibility they hold in creating these environments reflected in the music—and the responsibility they hold to improve them.

They get black people to run with the narrative that rap music makes black people kill each other, while ignoring other much more violent and pressing issues in other communities. I don’t see ANY of these posters in threads about white people mass killing black people (or any people) talking about “murder culture” or entertainment.

It’s just sanctimonious finger pointing for black people to look down on other black people, while signaling to white folks that they ain’t like the rest.

This happens in every thread. The overwhelmingly amount of posters are not BLAMING rap music. I also mentioned toxic tv shows & music when it comes to our women. We see daily how people who consume toxic Twitter all day can be influenced. If majority of our people from youth(when the brain is still developing) to adulthood have consumed negative media you think there’s no influence?

I’ll ask you but it seems most posters ignore it when I do.

Do you believe media has any influence on people?

At thats my point. No matter where some people are put, they're going to be out seeking after mischief. Everyone else most likely out there running from the bullshyt in the city.

This is more a mental thing versus money.

It's about saving the kids. Move the kids away from the hood and they will most likely not be in the streets.

Absolutely media influences people both positively and negatively.

The majority of black people do not consistently consume negative entertainment; but the media chooses to only highlight the “urban” (for lack of a better word) subset of black people.

The question, that also always goes ignored, is if rap music is such this huge influence, why aren’t the millions of other black people who listen (both nationally and globally) committing violent crimes?

This is where the disconnect is. You’re still going with the causation argument instead of influence.

Influence not only means committing crimes. Consuming toxic & negative media can influence your behavior in other ways. That’s what we are trying to address. Obviously not everyone is going to commit a murder, robbery etc

With that said why wouldn’t you want more positive media? Why the push back against a certain type of music?

What's crazy is that the people behind the scenes who push and fund it would never put this negative imagery out about their own people :dead:

You would NEVER see a Joow*sh rapper on the world's stage rapping about killing and selling drugs to his own people

If a Joo rapper made that type of music , he would be viewed as an enemy to the Joo community and outcasted. He would be looked at as a traitor to his people. Lower than a dog.

21 Savage couldn't even give what he thought was a COMPLIMENT to that community without having to apologize.

the same rapper responsible for the following lyrics about his own people.

I'm a real street nikka, bytch
I am not one of these nikkas bangin' on wax
p*ssy nikkas love sneak dissin' 'til I pull up on 'em, slap 'em out with the fire
Wet your mama's house, wet your grandma's house
Keep shootin' until somebody die
