I've actually looked into to seeing if Wake County could ban the image of the Confederate flag a few years ago when I was doing work with one of the black Raleigh Council Members but it falls under the guise of Free speech. We looked at it after the big controversy about the confederate flag flying over the old state capital in 2013. So do I feel the need to come at every white person I see with it on the bumper sticker, NO! But I was at least SLIGHTLY proactive about doing something. Sure nothing happened but I didn't just like ya'll nikkas.

Hate to use this analogy...but I don't think a Jewish community would take kindly to their neighbors proudly flying swastika flags and just using the "it's our heritage excuse" to pass it off.

But I understand. Many black folks in the south have sadly been conditioned to accept and just not bother challenging it. There are more racist white confederate flag flyers than you. The state condones it. Sure...it's everywhere (racism that is) but honestly don't know how some of you could live down there and see shyt like that without losing your mind. I'm being dead honest.

In almost three years of living in New York City...I've literally seen confederate flags....TWICE.

Both of them coincidentally were on Yeezus Tour T-shirts.

They fly that flag proudly in Pittsburgh where I'm from. I repeat...PITTSBURGH. That's definitely NOT the South. And that shyt pissed me off so bad seeing that dawn near everyday it was one (of many) reason(s) I had to move out of that city.

I've defaced cars that had confederate flag bumper stickers and have even ripped them off of trucks. That shyt don't fly (literally) with me.

You lived out in Brentwood? Only see the confed flag once and I stay out in Highland Park.

I lived in the South side, Oakland, Friendship, and East Liberty for a bit. My parents stay in North Park...

But yeah, I was surprised to see confederate flags popping up seemingly out of nowhere in the 10 years I lived on my own in the city...especially in Millvale. Out of the city limits near Mars, Hampton, North Hills, Deer Lakes, etc...that's a common occurrence.

To be honest though...more confederate flags started popping up around the time Obama got elected and reelected.

Pittsburgh...lowkey...is a really racist city.

Last time I visited Pittsburgh I was really shocked at the developments in East Liberty. Might as well just call it New Shadyside now with the gentrification there. Sure...it's a lot nicer than what it was when the project buildings were up ages ago...but the personality and the diversity the area had is slowly but surely disappearing.
