Have you ever started a business? It TAKES money to make money. No ones starts a business on 0 fukking dollars and ends up a millionaire. Either you get the money from friends, from investors, or you take a loan. Either way, 34k is fukking LIGHT if we're talking about money someone uses for a start up. In fact, the average startup cost in America is 30,000 dollars you fukking idiot. :laff:
Depends on the business. Nowadays you can start businesses online with little that can make money so that excuse isn't valid anymore unless you're trying some big stuff. Computers have made making money easy but folks just will, have excuses fam. You can't coddle them, cats or else they'll always have excuses with no reason to improve

The house
The man is right about our consumer society pushing people to buy more and more stuff they cannot afford. Luxury goods are nice but that cannot be the only aspiration for life. I have been trying to talk my nephew out of this thought process but it is tough for a 13 year old understand.

You will have to look at the timing of when he got the loan and how he worked his way to where he is now. I grew up in the south and there were plenty of old people that had saved good sums of money. I know a few that lent it to there kids who attempted starting businesses. Some did there thing. Some did not. There are black people that would have that kind of money to put up for a family member if that person has a good business plan and the drive to see it through, but there are many more that do not. Take the advice and try to grind and make something happen for yourself.

Sure, he had a leg up in the business world early, but he hit the nail on the head with this part.

Taking advice from rich people on how to get rich is pretty stupid 99% of the time...even if 34k isn't that much you can bet that the connections he got coming from a rich family got him a leg up on 99% of the population without even considering the money. At least he had enough sense not to go the Trump route with his "small" million dollar loan tho :mjlol:. HOWEVER, if we look at this one particular quote he's definetly on point. Lets not act like we don't all know people in our generation who are living in a big expensive city, rooming with 3 other people and spending money on all kinds of bullshyt and eating out every night because they wanna be where the action's at. Instead of going somewhere smaller and more quiet, saving up money and paying less for a place 3x as big. shyt I know at least a dozen of those people myself. I'm not gonna get all preachy on them, but they do make it easier for those of us who are quietly saving and building something. Less competition :yeshrug:

t. Flipping 34k into millions isn't some everyday shyt,

You goddam right... and that shyt doesn't happen to "everyday" people either..... If he was Joe Blow from Sydney, he would've never had this trajectory.... no one becomes worth a billion dollars at 32 via real estate unless they've always been plugged in socially and financially...

For all the dummies saying it's not a lot of money. Holla at me when the Taco Bell fry cook making $9.24 an hour starts flipping properties. It ain't easy to make millions but, he had a leg up getting $34,000 to start with. That first property probably flipped into another one, and then another one and then another one and so on. I would respect it if he saved the money himself and made millions with that. Instead he got that as a gift. $34,000 as a gift :camby: Most 19 year olds are broke and still working minimum wage jobs while they go to college. This dude got $34,000 to start buying cheap properties with at that age. FOH :camby:

These nikkas in this thread talking like that are jokes. Most 19 year olds are broke as shyt and just tryna figure out how they gon make financial aid work. 34K untaxed is a lot of to start off with out of nowhere.

Y'all acting like 34k of disposable income is the same a 34k salary :gucci:

Y'all acting like a 34k untaxed gift is the same as bringing in 34k before taxes :gucci:

Y'all acting like 34k of free money is the same as dedicating your time to 34k and having bills to pay :gucci:

fukk wrong with y'all.

Anybody who gets free money has a chance to do something with it.

Not to defend the cac, but his grandpa probably died and the 34K was his inheritance, this black lady I know got a 100K when her grandma died... :manny:

It's not chump change, but it's not exactly a life-changing amount either for most people. Someone living frugally making 40k could save that in a few years easily.

30k AUStraliant, which 16 years ago would have translated to 15k USD, aint that much money, every one of you crabs can easily stack that in a year if you really wanted too
Exactly! I know people who got that much money and blew it! At 19, he was wise enough to buy into a biz and flipped. This is the epitome of black people should be pissed in america. Most aren't afforded those opportunity.

Why do y'all keep comparing savings to a gift? You gotta put in time, energy, and sacrifice things like vacations to put away that kinda money on a 40K salary. The average American doesn't even have $400 in savings so it would be life changing. Even if you didn't know how to flip that money just having it saved helps.

I have no problems or opinions about him getting money that was given to him by family.

That post was to people in this thread talking like 34k of free money is no large sum to the common man. That's it.
