9/12 UPDATE: Prosecutors Want Young Thug Held Without Bail (Exclusive)
Prosecutors are trying to keep rapper Young Thug locked up for good as he faces drug trafficking and possession charges, BOSSIP can reveal.
Officials from the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office filed a motion Sept. 11 to revoke Young Thug’s bond.
Prosecutors from the DA’s Office are scheduled to appear in court Sept. 13 to argue why he should go back behind bars until his case is resolved. The flamboyant artist and his lawyer have also filed a motion for bond and will argue why he should go free while his case is pending.
Young Thug- whose real name is Jeffery Williams – turned himself into the DeKalb County Sheriffs Department Sept. 11 after a Grand Jury indicted him on several counts of violating the state’s controlled substance act. Cops arrested the “Gain Clout” rapper last year during a traffic stop after they allegedly found a gun, hydrocodone, a generic form of Xanax, marijuana and codeine. He is still being held in the Dekalb County Jail, according to a Sheriff’s Department spokesperson.
It’s not clear why the DA want’s the rapper to languish in the county jail, but it may have to do with the fact that he took almost two weeks to turn himself in after law enforcement issued a warrant for his arrest. We reached out to the DeKalb County District Attorney’s Office, but a spokesperson declined to comment.
Young Thug is scheduled to be arraigned next month.

Young Thug's got a pair of handcuffs in his future -- there's a new warrant out for his arrest in Georgia ... TMZ has learned.
The grand jury warrant was issued in DeKalb County after Thug was indicted on a slew of drug possession charges ... according to our law enforcement sources. We broke the story, the grand jury rung him up last week on a total of 8 FELONIES!
YT was charged with possession and intent to distribute meth, hydrocodone and weed. He's also charged with possession of amphetamine, Alprazolam, codeine (2 counts) and a firearm.
The felony charges stem from Young Thug's arrest last September, when cops pulled him over for tinted windows ... but ended up nailing him for marijuana possession.
The rapper's legal team's gotta be racking up the billable hours -- Thug was also arrested last month in L.A. for possession of a concealed weapon.

Young Thug is getting smacked with a staggering 8 FELONIES stemming from his arrest last year in Georgia ... TMZ has learned.
According to docs, Young Thug has been charged with possession and intent to distribute meth, hydrocodone and weed. He's also charged with possession of amphetamine, Alprazolam, codeine (2 counts) and a firearm.
The charges stem from YT's arrest last September in Georgia when cops booked him for drugs and tinted windows. Looks like they're letting the windows thing slide.
Young Thug's legal troubles continued last month. He was busted by cops on a felony gun charge after an album release party.

5:48 AM PT -- Law enforcement sources tell us as they were leaving, a member of Thug's crew ran into a police cruiser, prompting the vehicle search which uncovered the weapons. Young Thug was busted by cops after they allegedly found the rapper and members of his crew in possession of multiple weapons.
Thug held a party at Dave & Buster's Hollywood Thursday for the release of his new album, "Slime Language," that also served as his birthday party. In a video shot outside the veue, officers can be seen escorting the rapper in handcuffs to a waiting police cruiser.
YT was booked just after 3 AM for carrying a concealed weapon in a vehicle ... a felony.
He's currently being held on a $35,000 bond.
