Thug is one of the only artists right now that I wonder what he is going to do next music wise. That combined with the image he projects to the world puts him in his own lane. I don't get how people get so mad and say "but hes gay, sucks, etc." Those exact emotional responses are probably part of the reason Thug created his image in the first place. He is challenging peoples beliefs and ideals in a similar way that Donald Trump is doing in the presidential election. Yea you might not like either one of them, but you can't deny their presence. From a marketing standpoint the the whole Young Thug concept is genius. I just hope he actually gets to release HiTunes in the proper form. It seems from that interview that there is still a holdup. "Best Friend" did over 60 million views on youtube without regular radio spins. I don't know what 300 is waiting for. They obviously worked Fetty Wap to radio so I don't understand the holdup with Thug.
Niggs will learn to separate Young Thug from Big Jeff in due time.
The character or concept you speak of does exactly what its meant to do in a
buzzfeed, click bait, social media infested world that surrounds music today. As soon as he calls so and so
"Bae" he's front page of all the major blogs, hip hop sites, etc etc...
A lot of fans don't understand show business. They get caught up in the emotional roller coaster of being a fanatic. Jeff has to sell his image (like every other mainstream artist in the music business) which is the conduit to his music (which is really amazing)
I asked the question last weekend regarding social media and music. Does music speak for itself anymore or does a major social media presence outweigh the 10 tracks on the EP or mixtape?
You'll never see a picture of Jeff kissing a man who isn't his father.
Not the former freshman QB who started for his Varsity football team (at Washington High in Atlanta). Surely, if Jeff was the booty bandit some of you think he is one of his peers from ATL would've been exposed him in the age of EXPOSING everything lol.....
For my sports heads, you already know you've got to have a brain in your head to be a QB. There is always exceptions to the rule lol but typically a freshmen isn't starting at Varsity if he isn't an intelligent gifted individual.
Just look @ Jeff's hands on the cover of Slime Season 2... and read between the lines young Coli brehss...
Cee Lo Green, Busta Rhymes, Pusha T, Puff, Ye, Dre 3000 all wore dresses before "Young Thug" did...
