touching people is already illegal.

Try again.
Black women feel the illegality of the laws already in place are ineffective in the deterrence of street harassment. Some would like new ones that will in theory be more effective.

That shyt is ALREADY ILLEGAL!

You can't criminalize verbal harassment!

It'd be the biggest blow to free speech in this country's history.

I could theoretically lock nikkas up for merely offending me.

you didn't say anything.

What is verbal street harassment? and what determines it being illegal?

Cursing? Saying hello?

fukk the 1st amendment while you're at it...cause you're gonna criminalize subjective bullshyt.

you said it their word over ours, so what does it matter?

You brought up the first amendment which is good, thats just more proof that it wont get passed

A stranger touching you is not an expression of free speech and the laws in place against touching are ineffective in the opinion of some black women.

Puerta Medusa.
They have laws against all of this stuff AND are pushing for more:

We're talking about the black women in the OP, right? They're a completely different entity that the women from this link.

http://singleandlivingfab.com/taking-on-street-harassment-with-youoksis/

” Online spaces give people freedom to speak openly, which can be very healing. That’s just the beginning, however. We must come up with ways that we can look out for each other. Bystander intervention in support of victims has been proven to help reduce trauma and crime, so why not do what we can? We’ll have the conversation and people can share experiences and share solutions. I want to literally take it to the streets and use community to protect our community.”
“I think some men don’t recognize what they see as harassment. As a society, we’re so conditioned to men interacting with women in those ways that we’ve become desensitized to it.”

They're asking for help from the "community"

Goddamn man are you nikkas dense????

answer the question breh. How many black chicks actually call the cops when a man gets out of pockets after a rejection? Not a lot, they have family handle the problem.

So how many black women will actually use law, they don't even us the ones I posted in this thread

Can someone answer sum for me, is this law specifically tailored to women or can men use it. Say a fat lady verbally engages me and I decline her advances, but she continues to "cat call" and starts touching me. Will the police arrest her for me?

Yes, you do. You're so passionate and in your feelings that you not only continued this idiotic argument but you're also calling names.

Harassment is illegal, the type of harassment that's happening on the street is civil harassment and it is already a crime… so now that we've gotten that out of the way back to the subject that this thread is about.

Tell me where in that youoksis video the women call for law enforcement to intervene because when I read an article on the same website as the one in the OP, the title states that black men need to help black women, not the law.

:heh:

#YouOKSis comes from Holly Kearl. Feminista Jones using #YouOKSis from Holly Kearl.

"Do you remember when it was legal for a man to make sexually explicit or sexist remarks to a woman on the street or at a bus stop? I do. Sexual harassment in public is legal. But it shouldn't be." - Holly Kearl

I dont fukking know.

The point should be to inform people of their rights, not lock nikkas up over verbal "harassment"

Theres laws that are already in place.
