Probably the best shot blocker at the 2 ever, probably best steal artist at the 2 ever, absolutely hounded fukkers on the perimeter

I dont know what to say bruh, he was every thing you could want defensively from a guard. He was a flat out beast

Had great length, great athleticism, massive hands, godly awareness

I mean dude won a DPOY, you gotta watch more young MJ highlights :francis:

Ppl takeaway from offensive players in this generation for offensive play due to handchecking but you gotta apply the same rules when it comes to perimeter defense back then. Niccas could ride players the full 24 with their forearm, can't do that these days so I'ma give more credit defensively to folks this generation. I think Tony Allen and Ron Artest with a bit of Bowen mixed in are the best wing defenders I've seen all things considered.

Im not sure if its because you didnt see Hakeem much, but why Duncan over Dream as you center on defense?

Just partial to Duncan (defended at a high level longer, seen him anchor defenses with and w/o great perimeter defenders) and like the idea of pairing him with Garnett.

I know the Dream was great defensively, just haven't seen him as much personally either living on the East Coast. And still bitter about what he did to Pat in the Finals.:to:

I think those are fair points

Tony Allen with handchecking wouldnt be fair

Just going with a different selection since everybody obligatorily dikkrides pippens defense.I personally think leonard and butler are better one on one defenders besides lebron and durant they both can yoke any wing in the league

That's cool. I dont think you lose much replacing Pippen with Leonard either. He was great, but he had help from Jordan being out there was well with either Grant or Rodman as well. Who's to say Leonard couldnt do the same:yeshrug:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
Just defense?

Mark Eaton* (5.6bpg)
Tim Duncan
Ron Artest
Tony Allen
Gary Payton

2nd team
Ben Wallace
Kevin Garnett
Dennis Johnson
Bruce Bowen
Dennis Rodman
Mookie Blaylock

Rudy Gobert will probably be first team all-time in about 10 years, throw him on the 2nd team in the Christian Laettner spot.

* The Jazz during the 80s with Eaton had the number 1 defense in the league 4 years, 3 of them in a row, they had a top 8 defense in the league from his 3rd season until his final season when he was washed up. During his prime years they never fell out of the top 5, he's easily the most underrated defensive center ever, and had a massive impact on team defense.
