There's only 1 C in which highflyers made it a point every night to claim. They were rejected. Eaton would've been another good one, but Mt. Mutumbo's recovery time is what made him ridiculous.
PFs were loaded with defenders
I could've went with 2 PGs, and it would've been either Stockton or Kidd, or went with Moncrief or Joe D.

You're gonna have a hard time getting to your spots, you're getting ripped in the open court, and half court, you have to shoot over long armed athletic guys, you're getting stuffed at the rim, and you're not getting any rebounds

You can't go wrong with Hakeem, Robinson, or Mutombo at the 5. Either will do. The same applies to the SG position. Cooper, Tony Allen, or Moncreif.

It’s interesting how defense 5s have a lot more variety than offense 5s. Showcasing how hard it is to gauge defense quality as it’s less statistics and highlight driven.

Case in point: Everyone picked Mutombo on the first page a decade ago, yet his equivalent if not superior version (Gobert) is considered a complete farce and overrated bum in today's league.

Not that prime Ben Wallace is doing any better once put on an island by Luka 25ft out via PnR. All 3 defenders i mentioned were each 4x DPotY winners and played damn near the same way, all would struggle to have the same impact and containment with this pace and space era.

It's interesting seeing how many folks picked Mutumbo back in 2015 when this thread was started, and yet 10 years later he wouldn't have the same effectiveness on defense in today's climate.
