I don't think it's as bad as some people make out, but it disappointing. Snoop switched his style for the worse and the majority of the record just doesn't sound very inspired.

the real hiphop.
Yeah Doggystyle was a once in a lifetime album and impossible to top but this is a wack album regardless. :francis:

I don't know what the fukk he was thinking while recording this shyt.

I mean, you'd think with Pac (yeah he died 2 months before this weed plate was released but he was alive for the majority of the time making it) on the label some off that work ethic would rub off on Snoop. I mean, he must've felt the need to deliver something as good as All Eyez On Me and 7TD... and he comes out with this underwhelming shyt? :scust:

I don't buy that whole "he was coming off that murder case" excuse. shyt, he was going into that case when Dogg Food was released and he still sounded hungry and as himself. So now that he had been cleared of all charges he suddenly sounds like a fukking wimp, starts rhyming off beat and lost his ear to pick a decent beat at least. All while having Daz, DJ Pooh, Quik and all other DR producers at the peak of their game. :dame:

One of the biggest fall offs ever... but he came back later on in his career by the time of No Limit Top Dogg.

It could've been a confidence thing, no Dre guidence. Directing him, helping him deliver a better record. No one telling him shyt was weak. The label going into disarray, just not what it should've been. Pac sounded inspired af on 7 day, snoop sounded uninspired, and more than anything just plain bored.

He was high as hell when he recorded Doggfather. Getting high can be a gift as well as a curse.

Snoop's yes men were telling him that his shyt was fire when they knew in the back of they're minds that shyt was garbage. Snoop's "friends" at Deathrow just pretty much lowkey tried to ruin his career.

Shyt went all the way downhill after Up Jump The Boogie.

I remember being confused at how trash the album was. Not mad...straight up confused.

Severe disappointment. I wasn't as though Snoop lost his talent overnight, but you can tell he wasn't passionate about it and without Dre on the boards, it left me in a state of :scust:
