Since you're defending YouTube, let me ask you a hypothetical.

If the people same people who're running YouTube were allowed to delete TheColi, do you think this website would survive?

I'd say it's a good bet that it wouldn't, personally.

Whether I answer yes or no to this question, I fail to see how this applies, unless YouTube/Google somehow own the Coli. :dwillhuh:

We're talking about YouTube deleting videos on it's own platform, not mercurially deleting content on random websites. :gucci:

Because once you get past a certain size you lose the ability to just do what you want.

That is why private telecoms companies worldwide (for example) are forced to have more flexible contracts, forced to have lower prices etc.

That is why banks in the EU are forced to offer bank accounts to everyone. Opening a bank account

When you perform a broader societal function the government will increasingly constrain how you operate for the "greater good".

With Social Media now turning US presidential elections. With Trump's twitter feed being designated official government record. It is bringing the day closer when certain social media will be designated a human right. It is bringing the day closer when the government will seek to control them. Trump has said as much already.

You're defending people who would delete the website you're having this conversation on, if they could.

Learning existed before youtube breh...
If YouTube is the source of your knowledge you got bigger issues to worry about.

YouTube is such a valuable source of information that I'd argue you have issues to worry about if isn't one of your sources.

Banking institutions in the US can and have used their own subjective discretion to close accounts for individuals connected to "extremism"

You are making valid "technical" points.
The the actual reality of the discussed situations doesn't align with your viewpoint.

You are a well informed contrarian nonetheless.

I would NEVER use YouTube as a source. It is a product crafted specifically to get views and has no fact checking mechanism. You cannot be serious breh.

Well thanks ... It's true though. They (:lawd:) are coming for social media. That's not theory, it's reality.

"Advocates of social media as a public utility believe that the government should impose restrictions on social media websites, such as Google, that are designed to benefit its rivals.[16] Due to the recent substantial growth of social media websites such as Google, advocates claim that such a website "might need search neutrality regulation modeled after net neutrality regulation and that a Federal Search Commission might be needed to enforce such a regime." [10]"

‘If you suspect political bias caused such an action to be taken against you, share your story with President Trump’"
White House launches tool to report censorship on Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and Twitter

NB. We should throw net-neutrality regulation in there as well....

The precedent of companies deciding what we can and cannot say is not one you want set, friend.
What are you talking about?

Every website already censors it's content.
This isn't a precedent.
Do you go this hard with the hyperbole when thecoli bans members for what they say?
Websites have been censoring content for over 20 years

...Aaaaand there's the ZeroHedge link. :dead:

Dude blatantly posting Russian propaganda again. :dead:

See right here is why you can't face the truth...you don't even look at the information, you look at who made an article about it.

This is why you aren't about anything but protecting the oligarchs.
