dark souls lets plays

Nobody that realistically wants to buy a game watches a full YouTube playthrough. Games are interactive media and game publishers don't sell them as simple video playthroughs. This is because people buy games to play through them interactively not watch them.YouTube streamers shouldn't be allowed to show more than 30-45 minutes of a game. Watching a full play through should be banned.

If anything these playthroughs get more people to buy a game not less. If somebody is watching a video playthrough either they already bought the game or were likely never going to buy it.

Many of these content creators have convinced themselves that you would have bought their content if you didn't pirate it. the truth at least with me is if I downloaded something and didn't buy it afterwards it was something I'd wouldn't buy anyway. To me, all this "piracy" talk is bullshyt. From movies, to software, to games...if I didn't "pirate" the shyt, I wouldn't have went out and bought the shyt anyway so who am I hurting? Now making copies of/reselling is rightfully illegal. Someone watching a full walkthrough of a game should be illegal, though? :WHAT: So if I wanted a game but didn't want to buy it, I'll just watch a walkthrough instead and be satisfied?
I know my lil rant didn't really pertain to subject, exactly, but![]()
guys like pewdiepie make millions off videos that are in the tens of millions of views. you cant tell me at least a 1/4th of these people wouldnt have purchased the game if they couldn't watch it in its entirety on youtube
Noboddy played this guys game... that's why he's so damn mad.

I guarantee its a very, small, small percentage of ppl who actually sit and watch all 10+ hours of a game. And you have no proof that these walkthroughs affect game sales. I have never in life heard someone say "I'm not copping TLOU. I watched peepee lou pou play the whole game so I am good."
it's almost always sectioned off in bits, uploaded daily for weeks to months. each video earning hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of views.of course people dont sit and watch 10 hours of gaming in one sitting.it's almost always sectioned off in bits, uploaded daily for weeks to months. each video earning hundreds of thousands to tens of millions of views.
and you're full of shyt, so many pc, nintendo and xbots watched last of us; only to have the gull to complain it was just an "interactive movie"
and i bet if it was a game you spent years investing in, you wouldn't want it up on youtube in its entirety -- especially with someone else making more off your game than you.
im betting the pewdiepie article is what made phil comment in the first place. pewdiepies popularity is not the standard, but the point still remains. devs either deserve a cut of these lets plays, or they should be taken off youtube. you cant legally post up games or copyrighted songs in their entirety, same should be applied to games (unless the devs OK it)What proof do you have that this is a normal occurence for youtube commentators? That one dude is a rare occurence(and his channel is more then games)
