rose keeps signing CAA guys and kentucky players. he actually wanted more than we have and got rejected lol. not saying i have a issue with it yet, time will tell.

but i dont think hes looking at it strictly from a talent prospective. which could cost us in the future

thibs is a good coach, but he got the job cause of their relationship. he pretty much said fukk the young players yesterday lol
But realistically, a rookie point guard should be able to outplay Elf.

Also, I don't see a NBA ready 8th pick rotting away on the bench behind Randle.

The rest of the team is rookies.

All the rookies got their start outplaying the vets. Ja Morant is the best point guard on Memphis. Zion is the best SF/PF that plays well with Ingram.

The problem for me was hiring logjams. Knox was never gonna get minutes if Morris is playing like an all star.

Frank and Dennis should've outplayed Elf or they're not good.

Quickley = George Hill. That's my comparison after watching him play for 2 years.
He's a good player and should definitely contribute this year/be a part of your core going forward.

Happy productive losing this year :blessed:

I think the problem some of us have is even when the young guys do outplay the vets, they don't get a leash as long as the vets get so it's kinda pointless. Case in point how Frank was clearly the best PG in the preseason and had to wait until he was the only PG left to show he could handle the duties even when both DSJ and Elf had bad nights. In fact, when he ended the Bulls game after Elf got hurt, and the team went from losing by double digits to winning the game... He still didn't get the nod at starting PG in the next game. Dotson stayed getting ignored despite his very good play his entire career here. Sometimes "earning the spot" is an excuse to cover the politics behind closed doors. Hopefully that's not gonna be a thing and the kids can show what they have fairly

Both Noel and Rivers have bodied their media day interviews. Not that it means all that much in the scheme of things, but they sound like quality locker room guys. Even if you don't wanna watch the whole thing, skip to 7:45 just to watch Austin Rivers sound like he can't even believe what a freak athlete Obi Toppin is.

My two takeaways:
1) Austin hates his dad
2) I think the front office made it clear to FAs that playing time will be available for the taking. Which I’m not mad at, as long as it’s not promised before hand.
