So I 100% don’t think the lottery is chance but fixed to mostly help new team owners or get small market teams better, when there is a narrative to support it. Too many coincidences on where guys end up. From Rose, to Lebron, to AD, to Zion, to Yao Ming to Kyrie teams win when they show a need, looks to be in position to improve, and the ability to develop/handle talent.

If the draft is fixed, Cade would be the best 1st round pick the league could send to NY that I’ve seen recently. Even more than Zion when they were trying to get a big three (and break up the golden calf.... I mean Warriors)

For once the Knicks are ready not to mess the rookie up and have development coaches, and actually have other talent on the roster.

The last few wiffed FA show the Knicks legitimately need to build through high level draft talent to get good again as top tier FA avoid the team.

Thibs as a HC shows the Knicks are going to be able to win games if they get talent, and by keeping cap space they will be able to build around Cade immediately. The league likes to reward teams with good draft position when they trade their best players for picks and can build up around them.

Cade would shine on a team with RJ, Mitch and Obi. He’s a orchestrator and the Knicks have pieces for him to play with.

Cade seems like the type of prospect who could handle New York City’s pressure. The main reason I didn’t think the Knicks would move up in the draft last year was the league would have hated LaMelo ball and Lavar in NY. Too many violative personalities and too much potential for fukkery.

Finally in such a talent heavy draft, helping the Knicks for once doesn’t mean they cant give most of their smaller market teams a boost. The Kings, OKC, etc can add to their talent pools and the league can see if it can “resuscitate” the Knicks that are in position to be helped substantially with a star draft player.

Anyhow not to get hyped up but based on that I like the Knicks “odds” this year.

Knicks need to make the cypher complete, and invite Ewing to represent the Knicks at the lotto. :ehh:

He did last year and we fell to 3rd... :unimpressed:

I just hope Thibs doesn't coach us out of a good pock this year tbh... especially if he does it by playing the rentals and vets a shyt ton of minutes. If that's the case I'm def taking a break.
