You know that's the thing about this new age, Twitter age pro-blackness I will never understand. The fact that it's become less about raising awareness for our issues, more about discrediting awareness for other marginalized groups. Less focus on who and what's directly impacting us--ie: conservative railing through civil rights laws in the courts right now which Carnell, Umar, Tariq and all the "new black media" ignore--and more focus on these weirdo conspiracies and vague competitive rivalries concerning other marginalized groups that makes no damn sense.

She said just excluding a whole group based on their identity (black lgbtq+) and not their actions is a surefire way to stall a movement. It's funny because when you look at history the same argument was made during the lavender scare of the 50's. They didn't want any gay people within the government because if they were in the closet they would be susceptible to communist black male and would sell out the country in order to keep it private.

She actually gave Umar props years ago for having his own base of followers and being able to organically get supporters as opposed to someone like Roland Martin.

Four years later, Umar has not show much progress on the school front and has given his detractors plenty of ammo.
Tariq took the momentum from the ADOS movement and has created a jumbled mess of unseriousness. Mixing in Fauxtep theories that Black Americans were indigenous to the Americas, fund raising for a museum that may never get built, and social media roasting sessions against other Diasporans (which don't advance the movement for a Black Agenda and reparations).

The bolded is dead wrong. They were an LGBT group capitalizing off Black pain and death from the jump. Their mission statement was to end the Black Nuclear Family (man, woman, and children). They slowed down on the blatant LGBT messaging once they got called out on it. THEN they sold "us" out for money.
