He is unskilled.

He had a good summer league. But it's Summer League. Nothing anyone did there swayed my opinion one way or the other. It's not supposed to.

The only thing I got out of Summer League is that Flip's full of shyt about the coach-in-waiting crap. His son's gonna take over that team once they hit rock bottom.
Not sure if you remember, but I told you Flip is no longer any good as a coach or basketball mind imo
If he had any brains, and wasn't a grudge holding moron, maybe you guys could sign Yung K.G.
You bout to lose Kev, and Seven day is no slouch.. and can be had for cheap as fukk

But do you hear me tho :sas2:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
He really can't. He has a pretty form that he's obviously tryna jack from Steph Curry, but that shyt didn't translate at all at UCLA

His stats from New Year's on (when conference play started)

24 games
8.0 ppg
37% FG
33% 3PT

not including the 3-15, 1-5 3PT 7 point effort at Duke the prior month

That shooting ability wasn't on display at UCLA.

24 games? He played 37 games total and shot 37% from 3 in those 37 games, you can't just toss out 1/3 of the season.

He has skills, you're talking about him like he's a project big or something, completely unskilled wing players don't get drafted in the lottery.

He played nobody in those games. I would give it more credence had it carried over but it didn't. All it showed was that he got fat off weak competition.

What can he do for that team NEXT YEAR? The year after that? Who knows? He's a long way away from physically being able to contribute right away, let alone skill wise.

Name the last non-Euro wing player that got drafted in the lottery with numbers as poor as LaVine's.

Extenuating circumstances, realistically he would have posted solid numbers if he started in place of Jordan Adams.

He's 19, you're not drafting him based on what he can give you next year, I think you have it backwards, the skill to contribute is there but his body needs to catch up and you have to give him a clearly defined role as SG, no more trying to be a PG. Come on breh, Michael Kidd Gilchrist's numbers weren't much better, and coming out of Kentucky he wasn't more skilled than LaVine. MKG's jumper by comparison was horrendous, skill wise Zach isn't that far off and certainly not "unskilled" like you're saying.

Which is problem #1. He's useless for the next year or two at the very least. In these 2 years, they could lose everything. All that could be left is Dieng and LaVine, and then what's it gonna matter what he does? If you're trying to make the playoffs next year and you drafted someone to NOT help you do that, then you did nothing to improve your team for next season. It's like "don't even bring up his name til he's ready to play basketball since he does nothing for them now" What good is his potential gonna be in 4 years time when he's gonna wanna get paid and move on somewhere else since nobody else of worth would be here.

MKG's calling card was his defense. LaVine's calling card is jumping really high by himself in local gyms and dunking.

When it came time to produce and put in work, MKG did it. LaVine bytched up and did nothing. Him bricking shot after shot is not on the coach.

Jordan Adams was better than him though.

And yet, NBA scouts view LaVine as the better prospect.

You're not making the playoffs next season manito, they took him because at 13 there was nobody else with his potential, he legitimately has the type of talent that could make him a superstar in a few years. He's the swing for the fences type of player, and I do think he will turn into something when Love leaves. There's a decent chance you're going to end up with Wiggins, you've been on your old school doom and gloom posting :banderas: but I think your squad will be better in 2-3 years in large part because of LaVine and possibly Wiggins.

MKG was unskilled and his numbers weren't that great, you asked what wings put up numbers like LaVine, MKG's werent much better and he went 2nd, if they redrafted he'd probably go 7 or 8. LaVine was drafted based on potential, there are very few wing players on his level athletically that can shoot, and even less than can dribble :yeshrug: If he puts it together he's going to be a stud.
