And war is a non productive economic activity as Eisenhower correctly stated. Tanks, missiles, guns, humvees, etc...add nothing to the wealth of the country. As opposed to healthcare, scientific, education, etc...investments.
Also the US is basically fighting Russia at this point and is sending endless billions to Ukraine.
