This reminds me of when Derrick Rose was cleared to play coming off his ACL, but he didn’t play. Mentally, he just wasn’t ready to be thrust right into playoff action. I could actually see Zion coming back if they actually made it to the playoffs, but a one and done situation, he would be blamed for costing them a shot at the playoffs. And if he played subpar, there would be even more murmurs.

Better to try and play bad then sit on the bench no longer injured and collect a check.
