Because muscle is leaner than fat

He actually got in better shape physically than what he was.

I preferred him to drop 20-30 lbs too (and he just might) but he’s always been a tank.

He grew 2 inches and put on like 20lbs since his last HS game and been in the gym religiously. If he gets to 6’9 abd gets to about 260-270 dude is going to be tough to stop

The fascinating thing to me is that I've seen him compared to Shawn Kemp, and he's actually closer to how much Shawn Kemp weighed when he was considered washed and 4 inches shorter, but he's doing things like this. Hope he gets drafted a franchise with people that are on top of things because it'll be interesting to see how he develops.

He's not really Kemp though.

Zion has ball handling and playmaking abilities, a legitimate grab and go threat off rebounds, got a power low post game, tremendous mass, power, speed, agility at his size, stocky muscular boxy builds, both lefties, both capable of guarding up and down positions. Zion is just a super athlete with a lot more bounce than Mase. Also, they're both poor shooters because mechanically they both have wide shots in terms of their elbow placements.

Man, the gap is massive af. Zion is an once in a generation athlete. I seen Mason live multiple times. He was a decent NBA athlete for his size. Nothing near good NBA level athletes for his position. Zion's game is nothing like Shawn Kemp or Tyson Chandler. Mason was also quite fast at his size especially in the open floor. He's a powerful, lefty bully ball point forward with poor shooting range like Mason.
