I don't believe he is going to do it. I like what he's saying and waiting to see what he does. @DaCount said he thinks he's sincere with his aims I didn't even go that far. For right now all I can do is take his positions at face value. He's not in office yet for me to judge, right?
Meanwhile you are using fairly superficial stuff to say he won't follow thru? Is that right?
I think he is sincere for most part but ignorant. If his policies are implemented and they work without any major drawback that will be a win for everyone. Im sincere in that belief and he is sincere in that belief. I just believe its unrealistic they will get implemented and if they do wouldn't make situation worse.

And he moves like a fraud but that doesnt mean he doesn't want to succeed also.

To me the dude came from that same white elite mindset during that taught black people to rely on the white man. The same white elite that fought so hard for desegregation but just was integration into white society but black society, business and schools would be left behind.

Trust the rich kid he has your best interests in mind. Eat the rich but he rich idk.
Hes literally telling you your tax money should actually go to things like making groceries cheaper and fixing the roads.

This is ultimately about how our money that the government takes actually gets used. This is the approach to government that gave us things like Medicaid, govt student loans, and section 8 housing. The idea is that YOU pay into a system that you should benefit from. You're being scammed as is by these guys who take the money and then use it on military spending, Israel, and subsidies for companies like Amazon or tesla who already have billions.

If a guy who benefits from the status quo because of his existing wealth is telling you that he wants to change the status quo and people who are as rich or richer than him in his own party want to shyt on him for that and try to stop him, that gives me a sense of encouragement. I'm tired of seeing democrats fold under the slightest push back and not stay ten toes down on what they believe. I want him and others like him to be on that Roosevelt "I welcome their hatred" type shyt. Roosevelt himself was said to be a communist, a rich fraud etc. But under his leadership the middle class was built in america and he wasn't going to stop. He was going to propose a new bill of rights.

Theyd fukking HATE this man if he showed up today, just like they hate the politicians that agree with him today.

But you know hes not going to do that if hes proven to be a liar and lack integrity already, right? You do know he already is an assembly person for NY State? Whats his record? He doesnt seem to be doing shyt there. And being a fraud doesnt mean a short lived political career either. As i said, we gonna have to start looking at yall folks that keep supporting the problem acting like yall not.
Oh, what's he lied about?

Key Legislative Achievements:
Fare-Free Bus Pilot Program: Mamdani successfully advocated for and helped launch a pilot program to eliminate fares on certain New York City bus routes. While the program demonstrated positive results like increased ridership and reduced assaults on operators, it was not reauthorized after its initial run.
Increased Public Participation in Rule-Making: Two of the bills that became law amended the State Administrative Procedure Act to increase public involvement in agency decision-making.
A6267 (2021): This bill established a three-year pilot for regulatory agencies to use "innovative techniques" during public hearings, allowing for public questions and expanding hearing formats.
A8796 (2022): This law lowered the threshold for requiring public hearings from 500 to 125 petitioners for certain agencies.
Museum Liquor License Amendment: A 2023 measure adjusted state liquor laws related to the sale of alcohol at the Museum of the Moving Image in Astoria, addressing restrictions near a school.
Beyond the Passed Legislation:
Mamdani is known for his forceful voice in Albany despite the relatively thin legislative record.
He is a vocal critic of Israel's military response in Gaza and supports the Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions movement, although a bill he drafted related to Israeli settler activity did not pass.
He participated in a hunger strike with taxi drivers to advocate for debt relief and helped secure funding in the state budget for subway service and the fare-free bus pilot.
He has advocated for climate action, including opposing fossil fuel infrastructure and supporting statewide measures like the All-Electric Buildings Act and congestion pricing.
Mamdani has proposed further progressive policies as part of his mayoral campaign, including free universal childcare, a rent freeze for rent-stabilized apartments, and increased affordable housing.

Seems aligned with what he's running on. It's not like he was some status quo Dem who is flipping to the progressive tip out of the blue.

explain step by step please :feedme:

For one, a lot of the shyt hes proposing, he isnt even allowed to do from his mayor seat. Albany does that. He knows that but most people dont. No way hes gonna do his community grocery with corporations like whole foods and the bodega mob around especially the bodega mob.

I dont care enough bro but just look at Chicago the mayor there had same plan tax the rich, tax big business , raise property taxes. In order to pay for the social programs and plans that he wanted to implement. But he couldn't do any of that. So those ambitious plans never got implemented.

Just attacking the rich is not a sustainable business plan. They have the means to just leave and take their business with them and jobs. San Fran praying for all those tech companies to stay.

Different states Cali, Florida some people moved to New York. Now the mayor trying to beg them back because its killing the revenue and the downtown area.

They can just move especially if they can get an incentive for another city with lower taxes. They can just take their ball and go home. Its fukked up but true.

so you should welcome this policy changes in nyc if it means companies will move to your city.

a lot of those companies that left San Francisco has tax exemptions and subsidies and local government screwed the population over by doing the bidding of tech executives. the city got finessed until those companies moved on.
