It's crazy how so many people are overblowing the political/social commentary on the album. It's not a political or social album. It's the typical jay z album where he drops some jewels but ultimately just raps about himself and his life.
True. The main subject is the same subject of all of his albums - his wealth and hustle, and how that distinguishes him from his rap peers. Been saying that since Imaginary Player. The only difference is he has added passing on his wealth to his list of brags.

And the title track is just a repackaged Song Cry.

The beats help make it feel more soulful and heartfelt but by the time I was on my 3rd listen I realized it really was a typical Jay album. Dope, but not the huge divergence from past material that seems to surround the discussion and praise of his work on this project.

so he spends the first part telling you exactly why it's hiphop, but after that says it's not hiphop cause 'he not rocking over funky beats'?....lol get the fukk outta here....he shouldve just said the album wasnt for him cause he found it boring...being extra, trying to label it as not hiphop, makes me think he has other motives/reasoning behind saying that....
It's so blatant it fails at being slick like he was trying to be

Nikkas don't even have to like 4:44 but damn at least see through bullshyt like this.

Y'all stay letting them inch and inch then wanna be all :damn: :dwillhuh:when the ni**er rant tapes surface

He is saying exactly how I feel about Kendrick Lamars DAMN album!

444 is a bangin ass album! Jay is rappin like he never lost a step and the beats are good. He didn't need no funk or no groove shyt to get his points across. The sound matched Jay delivery perfect.

this.

not a hater, jigga is one of my all time favorites. his flow was just garbage. :yeshrug:

none of you will have this album bumping in speakers 10 years from now like you do his older shyt.:yeshrug:

once you absorb the political message there's not much to revisit on this boring ass album.

And this... got spin for a day, and haven't revisited it yet. :manny:

M. Rapp needs to stay in his lane tho...

Your whole tone is on some wet blanket shyt. The "it's dope tho" disclaimer didn't hide it.
