I think that the test of time matters but it's pretty predictable. It's funny though. The "test of time" argument seems to be used selectively and from different angles. Like when it comes to RD some people try and discredit it by saying that it wasn't considered a classic when it first came out and that the only reason that it's called a classic now is cause jay told people it was a classic. Now here you are using the argument in reverse, saying that it's too early to call it a classic and we got wait to 2027. Like I said though, I know classic hiphop when I hear it a lot of times. Classic albums haven't always hit me right away after 3 weeks but I can't think of ever being wrong as in loving an album only to later think that I overreacted. I'm always pretty level headed going in and my standards are pretty high. The only other jay albums that I'd say hit me like 4:44 this early are RD and BP.
