Yeah, the militias and police hit man shyt is fukkin ludicrous. The modern day nikkas are the descendants of the mfs that gangbanged in some of the roughest projects in the country in the 70s, 80s, 90s and early 2000s before they got torn down in the mid to late 2000s . These aint no damn militias n shyt. Some nikkas are just fukking savages
Yep. As simple as that

Chicago, the third-largest city in the U.S., has experienced more homicides this year than the bigger cities of Los Angeles and New York combined, and nearly ten times as many as Toronto, which has a similar population.

The number of deaths here this year, 471, is about 50 per cent higher than the same period a year earlier. Nonfatal shootings have risen at a similar rate. More than 2,300 shootings have taken place so far this year, mostly on the South and West Sides and most of them involving African-Americans.

Lol OMG 10 times more than Toronto. I would feel unsafe as fukk if I lived in the Chi. I've been told that most of this crime is in very specific areas and the nicer parts of Chicago are relatively safe. I don't know if this is true though.

anything can happen any where in chicago bu yes the nice neighborhoods are pretty peaceful. And yes there are even peaceful neighborhoods and blocks (relatively speaking ofcourse) on the southside that look like the suburbs.

It is, most of the murders are in Englewood, Austin, and Garfield Park, those hood have 148 outta 484

Then you have Grand Crossing (my old hood :mjcry:), New City, and North Lawndale with another 70

Them wild Puerto Ricans in Humboldt Park get down too

I live in Englewood :mjcry:

As he has several times before, Police Supt. Eddie Johnson said a relatively small group of repeat gun criminals are responsible for the the vast majority of gun violence in Chicago. The department maintains a watchlist of sorts, called the “strategic subject list,” which relies on an algorithm to try to predict who is most likely to be involved in a shooting – either as the shooter or victim – by analyzing data such as gang affiliations, criminal records, past shootings, and previous contact with police.

Really now? Smh. Are they being arrested, sent to prison? Do they not know who these repeat offenders are? Smh at communities having repeat gun violence offenders.

The murder rate in Chicago was much higher in the early 90s when hip hop wasn't nearly as popular. What was the cause then?:jbhmm:

I don't know how old you are or if you really interact with the youth like that but I think you should really hear people out who say this. As a fairly young person and one who works with young people I can attest that rap music is very influential. Rap isn't the cause of all the drama but it sure isn't helping. From my experience many of these kids take much of the music seriously, being a thug/gangsta is seen as cool and the ultimate form of masculinity, especially for black men; it even affects young girls. I've seen this even in my generation. So don't be so quick to dismiss it. I'm often think of that 2pac song shorty wanna be a thug and feel that really applies today.

Today is a new day and new era and what may have not affected you in the past isn't the same for youth today. I think many people shun the idea because they base it off of themselves, like, "I grew up on hiphop and I'm fine". We are not growing up in the rap that is out there today, nor is the music the same. This music not only influences them but serves as their live's soundtrack.

:laff: that's a sarcastic laugh. nikkas will say anything to not simply admit that there's a huge fukkin problem. I've lived in quite a few cities in 4 different states; It's the same everywhere...its nikkas (of course not all of us), not no damn private militias. Swear to god we are never gonna get anywhere because of ppl like you, making excuse after excuse :snoop:
There is a fundamental issue with our race, and it boils down to the reality that the most ignorant and illiterate majority have the largest influence and largest voice.

Im 35 so I remember when murder rates were higher during the peak of the crack era. Im not gonna say that hip hop has no influence at all but the streets definitely influence the music more than the other way around. The break down of the black family is much more to blame and you can hear that in the music
