Amazing, incredible, dare I say inspiring journey, breh. That sense of accomplishment must be immense.

Where did you learn to do all of this? I assume you grew up working in a garage or something?

Also how much did the project cost from start to finish?
Words can't explain how it feels to hear something you built piece by piece:wow:
I actually went to a auto tech class in high school as a vocational subject and they taught how to break down an rebuild. Never thought I'd use the knowledge when I was smoking weed and fukking off in class back then.

Price of everything including the car itself. If I had to guess $4 to $5k :smugdraper:

No car payment and can smoke shyt on the street 10 years older than it easily:youngsabo:

Bought some used aluminum heads from a fellow Camaro enthusiasts on a fb group for 100 bucks. They had some wear and damage but I took them to a good local machine shop that did my block a few months ago and they got em looking brand new. These will cool way better than the heads I've got on the car now and give me a higher compression ratio of 12:1 as well as a boost in horse power and torque.

I also decided to go with a old school single plane intake I got from a 72 Chevy Nova. This will allow my carb to feed my pistons more gas at a higher compression ratio and also increase horse power.

Changing out the heads and intake will take time off from getting my car on the road but it'll end up being better to go this route. I'm looking at two to three weeks till I'm on the road.

Quick update. I ended up getting a GM Performance Intake Manifold instead of using the rebuild Single Plane TM One on my last update. I'll get more torque and a better fuel flow with the newer intake. Also I wouldn't have to drill into my freshly redone aluminum heads to make it fit. I then took my cylinder heads and intake to Competetion Engine Services and told them to Port and Polish which will increase fuel flow efficiently and add more horse power. They turned out really good. Plan on working on the car this Saturday so I'll update later

It's been a busy year so far for the kid. The whip is still coming along after a few setbacks. The pressure plate I had didn't bolt up correctly:martin:
So after researching for a couple of days I found out the pressure plate from a 87 Corvette works with my flywheel perfectly. Then I found out the starter I had wasn't strong enough to turn my engine because of the high compression:martin:
So I had to get a big ass MSD starter. Then I found out we had the damn spark plug wires in the wrong firing order and had to fix that:martin:
Then the snow storm hit and I couldn't work on the whip for two weeks:martin:

Me and my homie worked all night this weekend and finally got it to start and run and it is fukking nasty:ooh:. The videos don't do it justice. It's so fukking loud and powerful:whoo:

I'm glad you went with a different intake the other one was old school like double humps.

What gears are in the rear? Peg leg or Posi?

Got the engine dropped and old intake and cylinder heads off. Swapped all the valves and valve springs over to the new heads. Installed everything and got it started on the first try. Engine install is 75% complete. Got to install the water pump, hoses, alternator, power steering pump, battery cables, and other shyt. Bolt up the tranny and rear end *pause* and it's done

Car is just about done. Working on the wiring and little shyt. Had to tune the carb and get the cam nice a choppy. All coolant lines ran with no leaks under pressure. Thinking about putting a stronger transmission in the car to handle the torque. The ghost is pushing with our estimate about 450ish in horsepower but we won't know the exact number until we get it dyno'd. Check the vids below brehs:whew:

What is the cause of the delay in starting? I'm assuming fuel flowing through the lines to the spark plugs. Or something else?
