The problem with your logic is you're pinning this kid's success/failure on "real hip-hop heads" supporting him when virtually nobody is being supported in 2015. On the opposite end of the spectrum is Young Thug, and his last mixtape went triple styrofoam. The same with Chief Keef....the same with Bobby Shmurda....the list goes on.
It's 2015, you can exist totally independent of "the wave". This kid ain't gonna be buying a Bentley any time soon but if he gets even a small fan base he'll be fine. He's existed for a year already before this thread was even made.

That's hip hop. How you dress, how you carry yourself. Rap has always been like that. Rakim, G Rap, Kane, they all was about fashion as well. Material shyt. It often seems like actually having talent or skill is a dirty word on here. Or having lyrics. It's quite disgusting. Seems a lot of dudes live vicariously through other men cause they have no lives so they want a dude they think is "pretty" with "sex appeal" with some fake gimmick rather than just wanting to do their thing genuinely. Lol at hating on a 17 year old kid who's infinitely better than some of the trash rappers here that want to critisize. The kid clearly has potential and talent, we should encourage and support him and hope that he develops further in many aspects. What he does is nice though and he definitely deserves props for that, especially considering his age but in general. Instead of pulling someone down it would be much better to lift them up. Shame people are caught up in jealously and their stannisms rather than their humanity, we have kid, a black kid at that, trying to fulfil their dream and their talent who DOES have skill and is doing it in a positive way that is natural to him that he likes and wants to do. That's not a bad thing, whether you like him or not whatever, but anybody hating on him needs to grow up.
