NEW YORK CITY
How is NYC flabby and sick? Many of these street wear brands are from NY, I'm talking Supreme, Vamp Life, Crooks & Castle, Slow Bucks, Ten Deep. Dipset was on the True Religion wave before everyone.

Like SpacelyRockets said search up Dapper Dan's nikka was making custom made Louis Vuitton, Gucci, etc. for hustlers and rappers in the 80s

Look at Alpo rocking a Louis Vuitton bubble coat

These Bay Area nikkas man, :russ: Harlem alone got more swag than the entire Bay :lolbron:

fashion wise harlem can get a lotta regions out the way. And im not even from there

Tru Religions were popular in LA, before Dipset ever got ahold of them... how do you think they found out about them?

Dipset may have put people outside of California up on it.. but they didn't make it hot.

don't sit up here and act like Dipset didn't dikkride LA extra hard breh.

people in LA were on the the Von Dutch/Ed Hardy/True Religion wave when they hit, cause that's what was hot in the city at the time.

no offense to cali but nobody was paying attention to them or anything they were doing back then.

meh. Trus and all that stuff was popular in philly in '05. people talking about dipset in '07, but philly was already on it.

but then again, i remember byrd gang made that style popular on a national scale in 2005 as well. i cant remember if they were rockin Trus or not tho.

and when i say dipset, im really talking about byrd gang(jones, max, stack, etc) and juelz. cuz most of the actual dipset artists was not rockin that chit.

Well who brought them back:mjpls:, were they from the west?:mjpls: It doesnt matter to me I just wanted to throw the delusional west nikkas a bone since they think they started everything.

the public brought it back.

the rappers just fell in line.

A bunch of 'Bloods' from New York weren't looking to LA culture at all huh? I'll just leave these here...

im talking about people in general. not jim jones.

like i said, people were already rockin Trus up here at the same time that byrd gang jumped it off and probably before them. byrd gang are the ones that blew it up nationally tho, and thats common knowledge. not just Trus, but that whole entire look. so its nothing to really argue about on my part, and it certainly shouldnt be from your end.

also, jones didnt even get that style from LA culture. he was influenced by stack & max. mainly stack, from what i know. jones got other stuff from LA tho. CLEARLY. but none of it really caught on with the public like that.

You quoted a post that was entirely about Dipset and now you are talking about something else?

That entire 'look' and 'persona' that Jim Jones stole from LA?

Oh it was Stack and Max B who have him throwing up LA gang signs, wearing dikkies, flannel shirts with jeans, and trying to do the skateboarding thing? Then he tried to be a rock star, which that whole 'rock star' angle is very much Los Angeles.

:comeon:Jim Jones mightve been inspired to gang bang by LA, but lets not act like Jim Jones saw some LA nikkas rocking true's, skull heads, and other rockstar type shyt and started doing it

i didnt know this thread was about dipset. last i checked, this thread was about cities.

most of jim jones' look & persona was not influential until the byrd gang chit. i remember when cam first blew up, jim jones was looking like the lost member of bone thugs.

as for the final comment, again, i said that jim jones was influenced by LA, but i wasnt talking about that. i was specifically talking about the gear that byrd gang ushered into the masses circa '05. you keep taking it elsewhere on your usual homer trip.

LA didnt popularize dikkies. and nobody knows anything about jim jones being involved with skateboarding.

rock star angle? you mean the skulls & belt buckles and all that? nah.

jim jones was claiming blood since the 1990s homie. hes a well-known banger in new york. and some of the other dipset rappers and alot of their affiliates were bangin as well.

jim jones was the only one mimmicking LA fashion. and he only mimmicked like half of the stuff that yall are claiming. and none of the stuff that he got from the west caught on with the public, so this whole argument is null & void.

and why do you keep saying dipset? just say jim jones. lol. that nicca stood out like a black sheep in dipset videos.

I really can't take you serious after you said 'LA didn't popularize dikkies'

I also like the Jim Jones was claiming blood since the 90s back story when the truth is he had buns and was doing cart wheels in the horse and carriage remix video...

The proof is in the pudding breh. He was hanging out with people here then he started dressing like he was from here while he was making music that sounded awfully like westcoast 90s gangsta rap.

i know right?

im sensing desperation in some of their posts now.

I really can't take you serious after you said 'LA didn't popularize dikkies'

they didnt.

they may have been the 1st to rock it. i dont know. but thats not how it caught on nationally. that seems to be what some of yall dont comprehend when yall argue over this.

i cant even think of an instance where ive ever even seen a dikkies logo or a signature dikkies design in a west coast video.

on the flipside, did the west coast popularize flannels back in the '90s. hells yes.
