looking at the pics, you actually help your case because its ringing a small bell.

not this one, but that jada pic rings a bell.(i dont feel like going back to edit your quote. work with me.)

but it aint really catch on. wait for it to catch on at least.

just because a rapper is wearing something, it aint saying much. these dudes travel and get free clothes.

also, is this cali style or just a cali-based company that rappers are rockin?

You said it was 'some skater shyt' and that no one has heard of it...

How about this one?

Isn't he a rapper from Philly who you claim is always in the streets?

Leaving out rappers when talking about Hip Hop fashion is like mentioning jerseys but not talking about the players themselves.

lol. you didnt get that bolded quote from me. what i look like speaking on some chit like that?:laff:

and again, hes a rapper who travels alot. theres plenty of stuff i copped in other cities that is completely foreign to what others are wearing up here. and im a bigger star than all these rappers. so do the math on that one.

BAD ANALOGY with the jersey comment, seeing that the reason jerseys got played out is because everybody started rockin them, to the point where you had people who didnt even know the teams they were sportin, let alone the players. youre proving my point with that one.

NY, just cuz everything from cammo, to kufis to tims to throw backs to button ups etc all came from NY

LA runner up definitely, khakis, chucks, dikkies, bandannas definitely had their time

all this stuff did not come from new york homie.

as for the LA comment, nobody outside of LA rocks khakis & chucks.

and i dont recall LA making dikkies popular at all.

You're really going to sit here and act like NYC being the media capital had nothing to do with them setting the trends in the pre-Internet era?

lol @ pre-internet. im sorry but the internet's influence is highly overrated on here.

most of the south is basically wearing what cities like new york, philly, jersey, etc have already been wearing for years, and also stuff thats already been played out for years.

and i know this first-hand via bouncing around in recent years.

I forget we are in different age brackets. People in my age group dress the same no matter where you go in the world. Thanks to IG and Tumblr.

You speak on things in the 80s when you were 2 and tell people in the South how things are when you aren't from there, why would it be far fetched for you to speak on Philly street chit?

I am not proving your point with anything. The reason people started rocking the jerseys is because of the players, there was an influence. Just like people rock shyt their favorite rappers rock.

and i dont recall LA making dikkies popular at all.

:snoop:

who said anything about the '80s? when do i speak on the '80s? stop putting words in my mouth.

im in the south regularly. its my 2nd home in the most literal of terms possible. dont try to speak on my life. you dont know me like that.

and stop being a homer. how can you possible take a thread like this to heart and start throwing insults? grow up.

lol. yea, initially jerseys were an in-the-know thing. but when the jersey craze became a big trend, most people rockin that chit didnt know a foul shot from a 3-pointer. dont kid yourself buddy. theres a reason why it faded into obscurity the way it did. you had chicks rockin jersey dresses, people matching the wrong teams together because the colors were similar(rappers included since youre so caught up in them), etc etc etc. it became a joke.

im talking young buls in the streets. not just your buddies who share common interests as you.

theres certain segments of people that are into all that chit, and certain segments that dont know anything about that. and thats people my age, your age, up-top, down bottom, etc. expand your horizons.

you didnt even state your age. how convenient.

its not about smart or dumb. lol. alot of people just arent interested in that type-chit or dont have time for it. and that includes 23 year old southerners. i can name southerners in that age group that dont mess with twitter, facebook and prolly never even heard of IG.

you prolly did tell me. i just wanted to be sure.
