Better than Jordan right now? I don't know. They're about the same, there isn't much of a noticeable difference. :yeshrug:

i never did say he was a legit 20 guy already and could just go out and get 20 on his own, i said he could average that based off what he does now/would be ten fold playing with a pass first pg.
As I said before CP3 doesn't have super powers, no PG in the league is gonna have Drummond putting up 20 PPG in his current state. Paul typically increases production of big men who can work with him in the pick and pop/camp on the perimeter, which we all know Drummond isn't capable of doing (ATM in time).

For all the shyt I've given Jennings this season, CP3 wouldn't be much better in using him, because a) like I said above, Drummond can't work in the PNP b) Paul wouldn't throw any more lobs to Drummond than what Jennings has done this season.

Majority of Dre's points come off second chance opportunities, which is helped by Jennings and Smith throwing up garbage. With Paul he probably wouldn't have as many opportunities, as CP3 runs a tighter ship = less missed shots = less chances at offensive rebounds.

Plus it would be largely dependent on who was playing at the 4 spot - taking touches away from Drummond.

He would at the max only average about 3 points more. Absolute max. Realistically he would stay around the same.

Why posters here already bringing up Hakeem and Shaq in the discussion when they talk about Drummond? I know you motherfukkers hate him, but don't act like Dwight don't exist.

The fact that there isn't a desirable difference between someone in their 5th season and someone in their 2nd sums up this debate brehs. DeAndre is a ok player and a decent center but he's plateaued as a player and won't get much better while big Drum still has room to grow while still providing what DeAndre does right this minute. My only criticism of Drummond is when I watch him sometimes he doesn't look like a basketball player. He goes up for awkward rebounds and awkward shots at the hoop that look real strange like he got too much athleticism or something.

Comparing points between the two probably isn't the best scale, since Jordan plays with starters that average:

Paul: 19.6 PPG
Griffin: 22.1 PPG
Crawford: 16.5 PPG

Not enough touches/shots to go around for Drummond to be averaging much more than what Jordan's averaging now.

I agree - DeAndre is basically what you see. Drummond has potential to be better obviously due to age and seasons played, but my point is right now he's = to DeAndre and in my opinion, you won't see any huge leap offensively in Drummond.

we tend to forget the Dwight Howards, Tyson Chandlers, etc etc - all these freak athletes who were picked young and had "potential" to be great (granted Dwight is great but no where near Shaq or Hakeem) Tyson Chandler has carved out a nice niche but when he was drafted he was supposed to be much more than what he is now. That's the thing about potential and expectations.

Anthony Davis was an MVP candidate before his injury and he's only in his 2nd year AS A BIG MAN... I'd build around him over Drummond. Davis is much more polished offensively and Drummond will have free throw issues for his whole career, although I think that can be worked around.:manny:

Before his injury, he was averaging 22/12/4/2 and was shooting 87% from the line... he also had one of the league's best PERs, so what are you on about?:russ:

On a team with a horrible record in an incredibly small sample size :what:

For a big man to put up those numbers in his 2nd year (when big men generally take longer to develop), that is quite impressive. Also, you act as if the Pelicans weren't playing decent basketball. :what:

Not MVP impressive and no 95% of the league is teams putting up hollow stats. He will be a MVP candidate one day but not now.
