And there's PLENTY of positive rappers apparently also that have buzzes. According to cats here there easy to find if u look. Tell me why none of them are chosen to be gven a push to the mainstream? Why does "bakin soda...i got BAKIN SODA" gets chosen? And when i say "mainstream" i mean "urban/black" radio. I listen to the pop statins alot now and ive never heard Bobby SchMURDA or Cheif Keef or Young Thug there.

name em

and i hate that bakin soda song, but people genuinely love that bullchit.

and dude will prolly be gone before the weather breaks. he looks like a quick money grabs thus far. nothing more.

The problem that many people are having is that their trying to use the same arguments that were used 20 years ago to defend the culture now and thats where its a clash amongst generation and a split amongst peers. The difference between Cube, Face, Pac, Ice T, MC Eiht, and the cats today is that even they were talking about the same hood shyt as these guys today. They were also bringing social commentary to the table which led to rappers becoming prime targets of the FBI. You can look and see theres FBI files on Eazy, and Pac and the Feds were heavily on Cube, Paris, Ice T, Chuck D and others because they were also dropping heavy game to the table. For every song Face put out talking about Real Gz, He put out a song like Now I Feel Ya, For every song where Cube put out Steady Mobbin, He put out songs like US, True to the Game and Black Korea. So when these ol buck dancing jive ass preachers, pastors, politicians and CACs tried to come down on our culture, We stood proudly because the brothers were kicking some HEAVY shyt that we knew that they didn't want to hear and they wanted silenced

These nikkas within the Mainstream rapping today wont even TWEET let alone kick some of the heavy shyt that the cats from those days were saying. But yet they'll get on these records and talk about killing one another every song and becoming a savage within ONLY their own community. Rush Limbaugh and Bill Oreilly or any of them CACs aren't losing sleep over these lil nikkas because their nothing but tools to their own agenda and they see that they are already arrogant and not trying to learn nothing new(Just like alot of cats here) so mix that type of arrogance with ignorance and you have a disaster within Manifestation.

If these guys would get on these records and start talking about bucking police or merking Darren Wilson or Zimmerman then yeah we can get somewhere. If you gonna be savage, Be a savage for the betterment of your community and I APPLAUD Lil Durk, Fredro SANTANA and Chief Keef for actually being conscious of the shyt thats happening. I'm hoping that they can use their power the right way and see hope

thats because the industry purposely weeded out the ice cube/ice t/2pac types a decade ago.

theyve all been relegated to mixtapes and such.

LOOK AT HOW THEY DID STYLES P!!!! he was next up to lead that charge.

these are the guys that are the real threats. no disrespect to some of the positive rappers that get propped up on here, but niccas dont be listening to them like that, and they sure as hell arent moved by their music.

lord jamar broke it down perfectly.

9 times outta 10, when people start running off names, most of that chit is wack.

if theyre not making any noise offline in their respective locales, then theyre usually not that good.

im open to check for anybody tho.

@MegaTronBomb! do u disagree with this post that music has an affect on one's mood/spirit/mind?

To determine that a specific type of music that YOU don't agree with, will automatically produce a negative response from listeners is utter bullshyt....to even go further and claim it's why blacks youth act in the manner they do, is even more utter bullshyt.

you may a well just go full Fox News and say that people who listen to Lil Wayne are probably criminals.

You DO know that OT Genasis, is not being "pushed" to the mainstream..... he just happens to have a song that spread virally and organically.... and has been buzzing since mid-September, and didn't get on the radio until 4 weeks ago.

There is a huge population of music consumers, who look to social media and blogs for what they choose to listen to.

Welcome to 2014, where music that is popular on the internet, eventually makes it's way onto the radio.

It's easy to watch an NBA game, and hear Kendrick Lamar's " I ".... or catch this commercial...and hear the same rapper.

You're really out of touch breh, you just don't know it.

You totally avoided answering the question. Im asking you: do u agree or disagree that music IN GENERAL (not specifically just rap) can have an affect on the mood and energy of a person/environment. Are u telling me that if u brought a woman over to the crib that playing sum drill/trap music would have the same effect on her as playing sum Luther/Teddy Pendergrass or Isley Brothers if u were trying to "set the mood" to seduce her? And your "will automatically produce a negative response" is plain out putting words in my mouth.

OP... Even before rap many of our music had violence and a lot of vice. That's just one of the features of music, expressing things whether negative or positive. You think Chief Keef and Bobby Shmurda were the first to sing about violent things????? Blues singer song about many "poisonous" things like shooting someone or killing their woman, drinking, partying, etc, etc.

So why should Chief Keef and Bobby Shmurda get singled out???? Why should rap get singled out???

The crazy part about this... is that y'all are right in line with the same groupthink that claimed blues, swing, jazz, rock, etc. were demonic, caused negative behavior and were poisoning the minds of American youth...and must be stopped.

Blues was DEFINITELY demonic.

More :demonic: than any heavy metal song I've ever heard. :whew:

another fake ass moralist thread , nikkas don't give a fukk about the community like they claim in these threads y'all just want black folks to suffer "peacefully" and to suffer with more "dignity" while caring little about actual conditions in these communities

The music influences the shyt though. Y'all can't be one sided on this topic. Kids are very impressionable and naive. Chief Keef and Bobby Shmurda are some fukkin kids man... KIDS! With no responsible parenting in the household where do they learn the things they learn? On the street, in music, in movies, etc. It's deeper than "man the streets always been fukked up." The streets gonna always be fukked up as long as these cacs keep trying to turn dudes like Keef and Shmurda into millionaires and rapping about killing each other which influences the next kid to do the same and keep up with the image.
