This also. Ive made this point before. About how we are seen by other races but i always get the "why are u worried bout wat a cac thinks?" Or "why do we need white validation" smh. Posters here trying to act militant but dont get the bigger picture. BLACKS ARE AT THE BOTTOM OF THE TOTEM POLE. Why? Because of the stereotypes perpetuated through the media. When u hear the word "thug" the 1st image that comes to mind is a black male. When u hear the words "ghetto" "hood" "gangbanger" "savage" the images of blacks come to mind to people of all races. Even myself,a black man equate the word "thug" with the black male. Call me a c00n but its true. Sad but true.and i hate that i thnk like that because the black people i know are all normal, working, ppl doing something with their lives. Its a shame that a black persn that talks and dresses properly is "acting white" this mindset is mainly because most images of blacks on tv and radio is the "ghetto" and ratchet" type

This post is pathetic :snoop:

We should also be :stylin:that Bobby SchMURDA is a 1-hit wonder. Now we need the ending to Young Thug's career to happen soon. If u dont know why then u are really blind to what the powers that be are doing to the black community thru destructive poisonous rap. And no, im not saying they are the CAUSE of our problems so dont come in here with that.:camby: As a black man you should celebrate the downfall of every puppet rapper being used to numb the black youth's minds

Im glad Keef is a wrap because he's a terrible rapper. Not because of any "poisoning of the minds of your youth" fake concern.

Its tough to see people of my age cohort act so self righteous and holier than thou over a guy like like Chief keef, as if we werent listening to the Mobb Deeps, Jay Z's, Bone Thugs, Snoop and Dre's who relentlessly killed a million niccas and sold pounds of drugs on wax every album. How many young cats rapped along to "I wouldn't give fukk if you're pregnant/Give me the baby rings and a #1 MOM pendant"

Crime rates have experienced a free fall during the era of rap, versus before its advent. High school graduation rates, college admission rates, etc all have a positive relationship with rap, while violence has a negative relationship. If anything we can make the argument that rap has been good for black youth if you wanted to follow that correlation.

All Im saying is chill on the hypocrisy. We listened to kill a nicca shyt, and we turned out fine. No need to clutch your pearls over a new school street rapper.

:what:I don't get how people can hop in this thread and say that cacs don't use Shmurda and Keef to influence the youth and say that their music is only "entertainment" but in the Exodus thread say that cacs are trying to brainwash society and rewrite history with that movie. It was me against the world when I said that movies are made to entertain and make money....music is the same. These cacs don't care about anything but your money :ufdup:although I hate what they stood for and their music

I agree. And take a look our society and morals.
Why are the biggest blockbuster movies mostly consist of sex, money, murder, violence and over the top action?

Why does the news continue to bring negative stories

Why does Jerry Springer which was one of the greatest and most popular Television shows of all time perpetuate negativity in every episode

this was nothing more than an attention whoring as thread from a person who is using these forum usual bullshiit race stuff to prop up as reasons to not like certain rappers

it would be less feminine like if dude just came out and said he just dont like these artists but nope he had to disguise his bullshiit

how can a person sit up and type this bullshiit out

This is REALLY what i was tryning to get to with the "spirit" posts. How music affects the subconcious. Your post very well could be the most important post in this thread but it will be glossed over.
Music can and does effect your mood. This is a fact and not debatable. There is a science behind it. Negative lyrics over depressing or aggressive beats will bring out a predictable human reaction. There is a reason why folks used to get into fights back when dj would play the lil jon songs in club. It was like clockwork. Music affects your mood and your mood affects your actions. Its really that simple. Only listening to degrading and negative music will affect you and thats why we dont hear variety on hip hop stations anymore. its by design. from a music theory and production stand point almost 100% of music played on black radio stations is in the minor keys. pop music for example uses major keys and "happy" chords. Thats why you "feel" better when listening to pop radio. its not the song its the key its in. back in the early mid 90s it wasnt uncommon to hear way more tonal variety in hip hop and rnb production.

And to further the post by @Nigerianwonder a little, ive recently discovered Atlanta's jazz station 91.9 and to say that the music affects my spirit in a positive way would be an understatement. The music is food to my soul. It uplifts me and puts me in a happy mindstate. I love it!!! Meanwhile i can turn it 107.9 the hiphop station and i immediately am overtaken by a dark, negative energy. The music itself is "demonic". Take that Nicki, Drake ONLY song. The beat alone sounds like the soundtrack to HELL.
