Zachary Thomas should be our new linebackers coach
Not all great players turn into good/great coaches but Zach would have as good a shot as most :manny:
. With that said if we were serious about bringing back former players i would have brought back Brian Cox :pachaha: I kinda miss that knucklehead. Walking into the Bils stadium with both middle fingers up :snoop::russ:

We're not hiring no GM brehs. Ross and Aponte will play draft roulette with all the players names and whichever the ball lands on is who they draft regardless of rounds

Dolphins have narrowed their GM candidates to 3

http://www.thephinsider.com/2014/1/...sts-three-to-get-second-interviews-for-vacant

The Miami Dolphins have narrowed their search for a new General Manager down to their finalists and are looking to conduct their second round of interviews this weekend, according to reports yesterday. Now, it appears the names of those finalists have been reported by a CBS Sports report and an article from the Palm Beach Post's Andrew Abramson.

The Dolphins will choose their new GM from a list of three: Miami Assistant GM Brian Gaine, Cleveland Browns Assistant GM Ray Farmer, and Tampa Bay Buccaneers Director of Player Personnel Dennis Hickey. Farmer is considered to be the front runner, while Gaine is currently leading the Dolphins' scouting staff at the Senior Bowl and is working as the GM, as well as being widely regarded as a worthy candidate around the league. Hickey was a surprise interview, and apparently was good enough to earn a second look this weekend.

Miami initially interviewed seven potential replacements for Jeff Ireland, and appeared to be set to add to that number some time this week, but that changed yesterday. The team will instead move on to their finalists. Included in the initial round of interviews was new Tampa Bay Buccaneers General Manager Jason Licht. The Dolphins also considered Pittsburgh Steelers Director of Football Administration Omar Kahn, Tennessee Titans Vice President of Player Personnel Lake Dawson, and Detroit Lions Senior Personnel Executive Brian Xanders.

Not shocked to see Farmer make the cut, but Hickey?

Granted, there's been a ton of talent on that roster over the past few years, but the Bucs have a GM opening too. Why aren't they pursuing Hickey?

:ohhh: Where did you here that?
Some beat writer for the Phins threw that idea out. Because of Gamble and of course Chip loving Dion. He was going to be our pick if Ireland didnt swoop in and draft him at 3. Also because he was a Ireland pick and he didnt play much at all due to not fitting in with your guys defensive scheme. He is a 3-4 OLB, that is very good in space and coverage. Phins had him at 4-3 DE with his hand in the ground which isn't his best fit.

http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2014/01/23/report-ray-farmer-pulls-out-of-dolphins-g-m-search/

The Dolphins are expected to hold a final round of interviews for their general manager vacancy over the weekend and the list of candidates for those interviews and the job is getting smaller.

Jason LaCanfora of CBS Sports reported that Browns assistant G.M. Ray Farmer has declined an opportunityto interview a second time with the Dolphins and several other reporters have since followed with the same information on Thursday afternoon. Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald spoke to Farmer, who said he has yet to decide but said that an announcement of his decision would come from the Browns.

Salguero also spoke to John Wooten of the Fritz Pollard Alliance, who said he had recommended Farmer, who has been pegged as the favorite for the job by multiple accounts, interview for the job in order to alleviate his concerns about the power structure in Miami.

The Dolphins have also reportedly told Lions personnel exec Brian Xanders that he’s out of the running. Current Dolphins assistant G.M. Brian Gaine, Buccaneers director of player personnel Dennis Hickey, Steelers director of football operations Omar Khan and Titans vice president of football operations Lake Dawson are other candidates who interviewed with the Dolphins and could still wind up replacing Jeff Ireland in Miami.

To be fair, Salguero's report conflicts. But if he's really pulled out, that would be a huge blow for Miami.
