Im not optimistic. I'm just saying the decision is made so you either support or get out. I have no clue who Hickey is but then again it's not like i knew anything about any of the other candidates either. obviously, Ross and his football goons saw something in Hickey.

Here is how i'm looking at it:
  1. We brought is Jimmy Johnson , our savior according to everyone at the time. We threw parties on Yves Dairy road to celebrate and he CRIED after every game
  2. Jimmy decided to keep crying and go home and he left us with Wandstedt.
  3. Wandsted came in and everyone hated the move but he did an "OKAY" job getting us Ricky until he pulled the Eddie Moore bullshyt then we wanted his head and he got canned
  4. We brought Saban in with everyone's approval and blessing and gave him all the power and he ran out the back door.
  5. We brought in Cam Cameron who was the MEDIA DARLING at that point. Everyone and their mama were happy we were getting an offensive guru in the door. 1-15. Nuff said
  6. We brought Parcells in and everyone and their mama approved and we were popping willies on Biscayne boulevard to worship Huizenga for the move. Where did that get us?

So now the ownership is saying fukk popular opinion lets try something different. THAT is the way i see it

You are one naive motherfukker

Support or get out ? why the fukk should we support a franchise that brings embarassement years after years.

Ross & his football goons ain't see shyt in Hickey, dude was the only one who would take the job. He was about to get fired from the Bucs who wouldn't even consider him for their vacant GM job. From all the GM that were considered for the job, I'd say he was probably 10th down the list.

LAKE fukkING DAWSON turned us down for a lesser role in Tennesse breh.

You trying spin this thing around worse than the front office themselves would dare to do.

Homie,

Among the people i work with here in Atlanta are..
Falcons fans
Vikings fans
Jags fans
Cowboys fans

I don't consider our situations to be worse that 3 of those 4. Tho our goal should be (and IS) to be beetter than NE. I'm just saying you guys need to quit crying like this. shyt don't just happen over night. We have ways to go but we're not the doormat, still

nice selective reading, what do you have to say about your blatant homerism from the rest of your post ?

I'm not out. But I damn sure ain't supporting the franchise as it is right now, as should any fan that is not satisfied with the team's management & results on the field.

Read : don't buy merchandise, don't attend games.

I haven't attended a game since Ricky's 3rd year with us. Thats when i moved to Atlanta (05). I still buy cheap gear when i come to Miami and i went to one of the Falcons games when Dolphins came to town.

We got a Dolphins fans bar here in Atlanta and i'm usually in attendance at most games

Okay i agree. We're the worst. You've beaten it into my brain. Whats next? What are we doing about it as fans? What do we need to happen? Do we burn down the stadium? I've started many fires as a child so an accident can happen next time i come to town. That'll at least get us the new stadium.

I'm not happy with Hickey, but I guess I have to give him the obligatory chance.

He has a mixed draft record and was going to be fired by Tampa after the draft.

Ray Farmer was clearly the #1 choice and declined a second round interview.

The interesting thing is that we hired him over Gaine. Maybe to shield him from impending failure?

A recap of drafts that Hickey participated in (literally in any way) on ThePhinsider:

1998 – 7 picks (no first), only 3 players were starters 3 years or more.
1999 – 9 picks, only 3 players were starters.
2000 – 5 picks (no first), one starter (out of the league in 6 years).
2001 – 9 picks, 2 starters (both out of the league in 7 years).
2002 – 8 picks (no first or second), one starter (out of league in 7 years). All but one pick out of league by 2003 (4 of them never played a single snap).
2003 – 6 picks (no first), one starter (only for 3 years), all out of league in 6 years.
2004 – 8 picks (no second), one starter (out of league in 7 years).
2005 – 12 picks, 3 starters (none longer than 5 years), all but one out of league.
2006 – 10 picks, 2 starters (both still starting), 6 out of the league by 2007.
2007 – 10 picks, 2 starters (both less than 4 years), only two still in the league.
2008 – 7 picks, 3 starters (only one of which is still on the team).
2009 – 6 picks, 2 starters (neither still on the team).
2010 – 9 picks, 3 starters
2011 – 8 picks, 3 starters
2012 – 7 picks, 3 starters

Total picks he had influence on (excluding 2013): 140
HOF – 0
All-Pro – 4
Pro Bowl – 9

Home runs include:Mike Alstott, Ronde Barber, Warrick Dunn, Martin Gramatica, Al Harris, Davin Joseph, Aqib Talib, Gerald McCoy, Doug Martin, and Lavonte David.

He hits on a pro bowler every 2 years, but went 7 years without scouting a single pro bowler from 2000-2006.

I would have been happy if we just hired a GM and let them run the team...if they wanted Philbin out then let him fire him.
but thats clearly not the case anymore...so....right now I'm taking the watch and see approach.

basically there is a lot of time between now and the season start. there are a lot of moves that can be made, AND the draft is coming up.

I'm glad the dolphins finally made SOME moves this offseason, we didn't get the candidate I initially wanted...but at least we got rid of Ireland.

but we don't know which GM's WOULD be successful or not...not of the guys were former GM's so who's to say any of them wold be better.

like I said, I'm gonna take the watch and see approach, not leaning either way right now. but If I like what I see...then I'll be at the games..if I don't?? then I won't support them.
right now everything is on hold for me.

Can't really get excited over his track record :ld: Drafting is a crap shoot most of the time anyway, so let's see how this goes.
