Maybe I misunderstood you, but I don't understand why there shouldn't be a consequence for not paying child support. Whether your underemployed or not there is no excuse.

@Sterling Archer gave me a good answer, but I've seen threads where people complain about getting money taken out their checks for child support too.

I think if we came up with a good alternative to the current system things could change.

Black Women already know once Black Men are in the system their chances of getting out and being productive are slim to none. So the fact that she involved the White Man whether it be a judge or po-po signifies she don't care if he live or die.

Did u blame the person who called the police on Eric garner for allegedly selling loose cigarettes for his death, or did u blame the cop who choked him to death? If someone had called the cops on Mike Brown for walking in the street would u blame Darren Wilson or the person who reported it ? Don't minimize the responsibility of the c.o. and whoever else was involved. The baby mom didn't deny this man his insulin, the jail staff did. That is what killed him. Demand more of the cops. Demand more of the judge. Don't let them off the hook and then say his bm is responsible for his death

All of this and more happened to my Pops trying to see my half-sis and most of his co-workers in the same situation. If he didn't have a city job he would have been put in prison 5x already in a holding cell for questioning just trying to see my sis.

Nah, I had a cousin who was abusive, and when his baby's mother tried to press for child support, he ran.
He hid out in a small town in the South until the stat egot him and forced him to pay. You clearly don't know just how shytty some of these guys are, I'm sure there is more than one dude on this site who's running instead of paying child support

1. What u just described is called representativeness heuristic. Look it up. Essentially because u know a bunch of ppl dealing with a certain situation, u believe a majority of ppl endure that same situation

2. Your analogy regarding Chinese women and their men holds no relevance to me as I am not Chinese nor do I look to the Chinese for a model of how to behave.

3. No matter what, the problems that black men face in this country will have to be addressed at an instiutional level at some point for true change to be enacted. Cant remember the author, but there's a quote that says "you cannot rely on individuals to fix a problem that is institutional in nature ."
