If the kid didn't have a seizure(and if it wasn't on video) they wouldn't have charged him with assault let alone an attempt murder.He probably would've just got suspended or expelled

Yeah i think he went overboard and punched the kid a few too many times but i have no sympathy for a thief

That's an aggravated battery at worst, a best it should be a regular battery if anything. Attempted murder is rediculus and a blatant over charge. Hell when I went to high school that was a fukkin 10 day suspension and that's about it. And it makes a huge difference of maybe 10+ years.

Out here the difference is 2-5 with 50 percent good time and a chance for probation vs 6-30 at 85%.

It's fukked up but in a fight it isn't uncommon for people to completely stomp another cat out. Cut the fake outrage and save the drama for day time tv

Yes. Access to mental health counseling and resources for low income black communities are few and far between. Hell, community and rec centers where they can rest their heads is scarce. There's a real issue here. Instead of emphathisizing we demonize, which leads them to go back to these behaviors.

There's jobs out here for convicts. its all about how people go about their situation and understanding the predicament they're in.

Might just be the situation locally but numbers don't lie and in real life I could gather 10 working black brehs out here and at the very least 3 or 4 would have a back ground. Most will have blue collar gigs tho.

A lot of nikkas with felonies just don't want to do shyt or work, just live that street life with fast money, getting high, and fukking hoes. I got my cousin a job with me at my plant starting off at 19 with full benefits that increased in pay at a decent rate over time. This quit about a year later and his exactly words were "I outgrew this place" on top of all the bullshyt him and his baby momma was bringing to the job. Not surprisingly soon after he ended up back in the joint on a bid for a dope case. The sad part is this shyt is a regular occurrence for cats out here

This is not as accurate as you think it to be. You arent wrong, but not as right as you assume (unless youre just speaking from personal experience). Yes, there are jobs for people that have felons in their background but anyone who has an aggravated or "violent" class felony has an exponentially harder time. The majority of programs and companies that offer jobs to convicted felons do not extend it Class X (or equivalent per the state) or Aggravated convictions. There are still some that do but even then, the majority of these programs are just money grabs for government funds as well and do not assist nearly as much as they are presumed to.

On a smaller note, since I don't believe in "statistics" to form an opinion, only personal knowledge/experience...you'd be surprised how many men actually have college degrees or trade experience that are in prison. Of course its not the majority, but quite a significant number. Reasons being, they'd have you to believe that black men are all uneducated and all are thugs. We know they have an agenda against the black community and imprison our men unjustly and as a result, many men are in the prison system that should not be and make up a large portion of the "educated" men in prison. Even of the less educated men or "thugs" in our community have a large portion that are working class, despite also being in the game.

This is my experience as an educated black man who has had the unfortunate first-hand knowledge of prison and as the Administrator for a Non-Profit Org that services the post-incarceration community. I have few Youth, Substance Abuse and Re-Entry programs of my own here on the Southside of Chicago. Again, you are not wrong, just not as right as they would like us to believe.

On topic, while it was sickening to watch dude smash on the other kid, don't fall victim to the tactics white justice officials use on our community. This was harsh. And if you want to give him the maximum penalty for aggravated assault then I agree with that premise. But this was not an attempted murder. He did not attempt to kill him and if the kid had died, it would be manslaughter if charged correctly (which they never do to black men). If he wanted to kill that boy, no one around was capable of stopping him from doing so. He essentially stopped his attack on his own at the encouragement of others, not being physically stopped due to others. Since he chose to break the attack off while the boy was obviously still alive, by the book it should not be an attempted murder charge. 1st Degree Aggravated Assault is appropriate.

I don't wish prison on anyone. I however would have no problem if dude gets his soul taken over this by the boy's family. Its just the way shyt is unfortunately.
