They would have been good, but I think they'd rather have Fultz on the rookie scale for a few years, they're gonna have to make a decision on Embiid extension now and with all the young players they have resigning guys will be hard in the future.

Personally I think the same way, but since the Sixers are jumpstarting out of the process that move would've possibly put them from lottery team to ECF territory. And I think Reddikk's team friendly 1 year deal makes it easier to manipulate the cap, Embiid's max won't be all that high all things considered since he isn't eligible for the Rose Rule and since he's only 4 years into the league.

The Cavs aren't trading Kyrie without receiving an adequate replacement. The picks are fine but they need a player for at least a year to supplement their campaign

Well let's see, when they were looking for trade partners 2 of the guys they wanted to trade for was Tatum and Jackson, one of which would've likely been drafted by Philly. Toss in Philly's pick and the Lakers pick the future will likely be secured, and then you ask for one or two decent players and from there is where you have the ability to ask for guys like Saric and Okafor...I don't see how or why the Cavs say no to that especially since they are going to make moves in anticipation of LeBron leaving.

If IT is out after december then I wont like this trade but till then, I think Cavs did a good job if he returns by December and plays to his old level

Who the fukk is gonna covet a 2nd rounder that's 3 years away :mjlol:
A team seeking a reason to trade for a player they will cut....

Cavs is over the cap.. even if they cut it they will pay millions in cap for the years that his salary remains on..

But a team under the require % of salary cap and grab him and cut him...and not pay more.. it would cost them his salary or less... And get a second rounders..and another "serviceable" player...

If Cavs trade let say IT and SHump... For trade exceptions... They save 16 mil of salary plus the cap ... potentially 20+ mil..(and I think maybe even closer 30 mil.)

I believe the latter is more likely to happen. And I'd be surprised if dude is out until December.

Whether or not he'll be given the max by the Cavs is another question altogether...:hubie:

Only a 2020 second round pick.

But...but...ain't IT a cripple? Didn't he get airlifted out of the Cavs facility and taken straight to the emergency room after the physical? How does he play basketball as a paraplegic? I mean, last I heard he doesn't even get out of the bodycast until about the all star break.

:mjlol: Ainge won.

For sure the Cavs won't... If LeBron didn't come back getting niccas paid.. Cavs would have short changed anyone not named kyrie

Please me find one case in NBA history where a 2nd rounder that's years away was viewed as a valuable asset in a trade.

The reality is that Danny called their bluff. They wanted it to be one way, but it was the other way :manny:

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?

I don't think they're really jump starting the process, they still have the Lakers or Kings pick for 2018 or 2019, the process ended when Embiid showed he's a generational player when healthy. They have space for two maxes next summer, who knows maybe the Lakers look a lot worse than expected and PG-13 decides to join them. Embiid's max just means they have to be cautious because of his injury history, it could be dead space on the cap if he does get hurt, so tying up more money in a guy who may or may not stay could be dangerous for them.

You're misreading. He's saying if they DON'T trade for Fultz they would be prime trade partners for the Cavs and would've landed Kyrie for nearly the same package they sent to get Fultz to begin with.

Sixers would've been scary.

Yes

If they don't trade for fultz

3rd pick this year
Lakers pick next year

That might have been enough to get LeBron to ask for a trade so they could go ahead and get their rebuild started right away
