People talking smack about Kyrie's defensive shortcomings do realize that IT is, by virtually every advanced metric/statistic and even the basic eye test, by FAR the worst defender in the entire league right???? And that he's gonna be sharing the court with JR Smith while being backed up by Derrick Rose coming off the bench too??
Like I can understand the thinking that Cleveland won this trade handily, I probably even agree with it, but if you seriously think that Boston and Ainge lost this trade because Kyrie is a bad defender who can only score, then I'm confident you've never seen more than 5 minutes of Isaiah Thomas playing an actual NBA game in your life. Dude is dead fukking last in DRPM, and exponentially more so than even Allen Crabbe, the guy ranked 2nd to last ahead of him. It isn't a coincidence or luck that the only game Boston miraculously took off of Cleveland in the WCF this year was the one game IT sat out; Boston defense and points prevented skyrockets whenever he's not being a sieve giving up points to the opposing team on the court. Look at this if you don't believe me:

So yea, rejoice or agonize about this trade all ya want, but if you're a Cavs fan and are excited about Kyrie being gone because "He's a one dimensional ISO scorer" and "He can't play D to save his life", well then I hate to be the bearer of bad news but y'all ain't seen fukking shyt yet now that IT and JR are your starting backcourt this year
