No one else on the team is worth a damn without Lebron thoThomas and Crowder wouldn't exactly be the guys they're moving though. It's everyone else on the team that's problematic.

On its face, Cleveland wins this trade because they added IT, Crowder and the 2018 Nets pick and only gave up Kyrie (who already made it clear he wanted out). But there's a risk that this blows up in Cleveland's face.
Bron is pretty much gone after this season. IT will also be a free agent demanding max contract money. At best, the Cavs find a way to keep both (highly improbable), add some players (Melo/Wade),and try to compete with Golden State for the next few years. At worst (and more likely), Bron and IT bounce after next season and Cleveland's stuck Crowder, Thompson, Love and trash.
Celtics understandably moved on from IT. He's in a contract year and has made it known that he wants the Brinks truck. But Boston cannot commit max-contract money to a soon-to-be 30 year old 5'9" PG who can't play D. At least with Kyrie, Boston gets a much younger PG that has championship experience and is as deadly a finisher as IT. Although he's not a great defender himself, it'll be easier to hide Kyrie on defense than Isaiah. And Kyrie's under contract for another 3 years.
Giving up Crowder is going to hurt Boston but now there are guaranteed minutes for Brown and Tatum to develop into contributors. And the Morris pickup is going to help fill the void left by Crowder. Cleveland's happy.
The loss of the Nets pick may be what fukks over Boston. The 2018 Nets pick isn't guaranteed to be a top 5. The Nets are by no means a playoff team but I don't think they'll be any worse than last season, especially with the addition of D'Angelo. There may be worse teams in the conference and that's before we start talking about the worst in the West. But even still, the Nets may very well be trash again.
Short term: Cleveland won. Long term: Boston won.
thus, why Cleveland couldn't really blow it up even if they tried. No one else on the team is worth a damn without Lebron tho
True, but I think that was based on pure talent in ISO basketball....Bron 1 on 1 or Kyrie 1 on 1 and kickin to k love or whoever else......if done well this offense may be better and may run sets better, that will be far more difficult for teams to defend than the obvious Bron Kyrie threatWe had a historically great offense last year
Isaiah has shown loyalty to franchises tho. Him being a one year rental is their only hope. Luckily he's coming off the 2nd greatest offensive season for a point guard ever and more than likely a Finals berth in 2018. I mean they've got a pick now might as well start getting more. Plus Love and Crowder can be traded not to mention Thompson is useless now and people love small ball 5's. They're not without ANY hope if they choose to blow it up.thus, why Cleveland couldn't really blow it up even if they tried.
Celtics held all the cards. Team friendly contract in Crowder. BRooklyn's number 1 pick. WE can even go back further to having the 2016 and 2017 first round picks (Tatum and Brown). everyone wanted Ainge to make a move but he kept sitting on these assets. paul george and butler went by. Finally they went with their plan C in Hayward. But you still have valuable assets in Crowder and a first rd 2018 pick and you give it up for Kyrie Irving? I mean you could have sat on those assets and went after WEstbrook and Pg again in 2018. You could have went after Cousins or Kevin Love(he's always in trade rumors). Maybe even Anthony Davis. I like Brown and Tatum. I like Kyrie. But to have all these assets and not get a top 10 player is ridiculous.
If the cavs can flip that nets pick for cousins or marc gasol. You basically just traded kyrie for gasol/IT, that definitely is a huge win for the cavs. But one thing to keep in mind is, if I'm the cavs I'm not flipping that first pick for an aging superstar like marc unless lebron resigns.
C- Gasol or Cousins
PF- Love
SF- Lebron
SG- JR
PG- IT
And there bench improved vastly with rose and crawdor who are 100 times better than Jefferson and deron. This squad can definitely take the warriors to 7 and possibly even win.
Ain't to many teams willing to give up a top 5 pick for a "nut case" like cousins. Pelicans would be crazy not to jump on this trade and pair AD with porter or bagleyGonna take a lot more than that Nets pick for Cousins. CLE doesn't have anymore desirable pieces.
this trade is him realizing he fukked up + I don't think IT rehab is going as well as they hoped. Always found the "slow grind" campaign kinda interesting tbh. I know IT stepped up where ever he was at but being w/ Bron after the injury + losing the ball outta ya hands isRight. It's crazy breh.
I mean if they were going to trade that pick... can someone explain why they didn't just draft Lonzo or Fultz, trade that pick Nets 2018 Pick for PG13 or Jimmy Butler, and keep IT for this next year, or trade him at the deadline to a team that might be desperate?
So Ainge values Kyrie Irving over Fultz or Ball + PG13 or Jimmy Butler AND keeping IT for next season?
Someone help me understand this fukkery that just happened
And their defense is going to take a massive hit cause they just dealt Crowder and they lost Bradley already
for IT. Yeah, but this is the last year you could trade IT for anything due to the expiring contract. Danny almost never lets a player walk without getting something for em.
