You don't know that especially with that system that they have.

They have a lot of good fits for the system. They are young but they aren't that young. They have a solid mix of vets and young players and they have a system that will create for them and more importantly, they fit. Not to mention, Lin as a 6th man is one of the best in the NBA as a backup PG. I like this team as a sleeper. Not a playoff team but much better than people think. I actually watched a lot of Brooklyn games especially in the 2nd half of the season. With Lin in the lineup, they had a solid record. That said, I don't see Lin starting but I can see a lot of Lin-Russell combinations within the 4th quarter like Kemba/Lin.
they're still gonna lose 55 games or so. Their youngins are still green as hell, but if nothing else, they're coached well enough to steal a game here and there.

Their guards aren't the issue, it's their frontcourt that is putrid.

They wont be the worst team in the league, but they should be get the 6-8, and there's always the chance for lottery fukkery.
I actually like their backcourt. There frontcourt is my biggest question. Unlike you, I actually like Mozzy and Booker. Some of my favorite "workers" in the NBA. Do all of the dirty work and Booker got some skill. Their talent level isn't high at all, in fact it's low for a starter but they execute and that's critical in this system. If Russell could develop within this system, you will see a massive progression for this team. I don't think people realize how good at executing Carroll, Mozzy and Booker are. While that's not a legit skill, it helps but they will need a lot of scoring out of Russell and LeVert if they are to win. While I am not the biggest RHJ fan, off of the bench, he could be solid in a hybrid SF/PF. His shooting from what I seen recently still isn't good at all, in fact, it's still not average. This is a team, I like. I don't know why, I just do. They don't quite remind me of the 60 win Hawks but they reminds me of a less talented Denver squad when they had Ty Lawson off of the bench and Gallo was new to Denver.

Nets pick (gives them a million options) and Crowder's fit with LeBron sell me on it.

I think the Celtics are not valuing defense anymore by letting Bradley and Crowder go. The majority of teams aren't going to be able to match their offense at peak ability (Cavs, Warriors, Rockets, Nuggets, Wizards starters, and OKC can)

I'm cool with IT...just hope they don't end up giving him a super max. I don't think you can win a title with him playing big minutes in today's climate.

Cavs are deeper. I don't think they are done making moves.

Still think the Warriors repeat.
It's an NBA that I think people are beginning to realize except for Golden State. It's almost impossible to teach teams defense, especially younger teams because they don't see the point if stars are still gonna get their 25-30 and the games are gonna end 130-120 anyway.

They could, I am not expecting greatness or even close to the playoffs. The wheels could come off, players don't live up to roles given to them, injuries happen, etc. Just because they are my sleeper pick doesn't mean I am picking them to do anything special. I just think this is a better team than many think it is.

Dudes in here like ''oh it might not be a top 5 pick tho cuz brooklyn got a squad'' Literally noone was saying this until this trade today, :laff:
I been saying this for most of the summer. I did think this could potentially be a playoff sleeper if they landed KCP and not Crabbe. I just seen too many of there games last year and see them developing players at very fast rates, getting great fits and the system is excellent for these types. I have a tough time thinking this team will be bad.

1.At people talking about IT's defense as if Kyrie wasn't bench multiple games in the playoffs due to his poor defense.

2.Cavs will be better with Lebron off the floor than they were last season....IT,Rose,Love,Crowder,and Thompson will give them a legit squad when Lebron sits.

3.The cavs have more quality depth than they did in 2016-17

4.If the nets have one of the 5 worst records heading towards the trade deadline, the cavs should keep the pick unless they get back a superstar in a trade. Also,if the nets have a poor season,I can see them unloading players prior to the trade deadline.Leading to a higher cavs draft pick.

5.Cavs have more playmakers than they did last season.

6.This will be a huge wakeup call for Kyrie. He will now be the number one focus for the oppostion on defense.

7.Can Kyrie stay healthy carrying more of the load ?

Right. It's crazy breh.

I mean if they were going to trade that pick... can someone explain why they didn't just draft Lonzo or Fultz, trade that pick Nets 2018 Pick for PG13 or Jimmy Butler, and keep IT for this next year, or trade him at the deadline to a team that might be desperate?

:dwillhuh:

So Ainge values Kyrie Irving over Fultz or Ball + PG13 or Jimmy Butler AND keeping IT for next season?

:wtf:

Someone help me understand this fukkery that just happened

And their defense is going to take a massive hit cause they just dealt Crowder and they lost Bradley already

No. Ainge and Stevens valued Hayward over Butler and PG. How the fukk were they gonna pay either PG or Butler and Hayward? Wasn't gonna happen. Would have been way over the cap. Kyrie has a cap friendly contract. Y'all niccas playing fantasy basketball outchea.

PG would have been a 1 year rental and they felt Hayward has more upside than Butler.
