Do you genuinely think AEW will compete?

Do you actually believe it or do you just hope so?

At the moment it's all up to them, they have a good network behind them, they have the tools to compete, at least TV ratings wise eventually, will they will depend on what they do with it.

Hope AEW will be a real competitor but don’t think it will last

^ This right here. Watching that PPV for me was like Huey realizing Stinkmeaner didn't really have enhanced senses before he got beat to death. They don't got the stars or even the guys they need. They got a weak money mark, they simultaneously like to stick their chest out but have also apologized numerous times coming across as arrogant and weak. Their answer as an alternative is more wrestling some of which, is neckbeard comedy and garbage hardcore and asking for characters and storylines is considered too much according to their fans but a guy who look like fukking Jimmy Havoc needs a good damn storyline reason for why he supposed to be scary like c'mon.

They've had two weekly online shows building up every show since January so how are there no storylines? Even if you don't like the BTE comedy, their "Road To" shows have been serious and cover most of the build up.

Beyond that also they have potential to be a success independent of WWE. It's gonna be in what they do, if they make the right moves they got a shot at being a legit alternative. There's probably not been a company since WCW in a better position. If they waste this opportunity they fukked up, AEW should be going 10-20 years from now if they do it right.

As someone who likes AEW, but doesn't keep up with any of their online content, they basically have no storylines. This will obviously change when the show launches, but keep in mind that not everyone likes Being the Elite, or keeps up with it like that.

I understand that but you also can't say the matches had no build. They've used their online content though to build up matches like Cody / Spears, Lucha Bros / Bucks, Bucks / Rhodes, Brandi / Allie, Cody / Darby, Cody / Dustin though.

They even had a preview show on TNT the day before All Out showing the stories leading up to the show.

If the build happens on a platform that significant portions of the audience don't watch, then the build basically didn't happen.

Also, there are storyline developments that apparently happened on the online shows that just get mentioned in passing on the PPVs.

I like AEW and really want them to succeed, but their largest misstep is that they really do seem to act like they think their entire fanbase has the viewing habits of their most dedicated fans.
