The Knicks are currently ranked 25th on defense; replacing Melo with Draymond would turn them into a top-10 defensive team. That's at least 25 wins off the strength of that alone (especially given the fact that KP would have more energy for offense with Draymond anchoring the D). While Draymond wouldn't be able to replace Melo's scoring output or attract the same DA, he would however be exactly what the Knicks need on offense - a playmaker (again, especially for KP's growth and the general function of Hornacek's offense). There's enough scoring between KP, Rose and Draymond (with the help of the supporting cast) that would go a long way to replacing whatever veil of impact Melo has on offense.
