You think geno smith is a starting caliber quarterback in the national football league and are completely absolving any blame on the kicker missing a point after, the defense giving up the game winning score in the final minutes, and Revis giving up a 10 for 10 passing with 160 yards and a score performance by dalton throwing to green. Why should anyone even acknowledge your opinion at all about football?
:beli: Theirs a lot of blame to go around but it starts with the QB. He's the leader of the team and has the most impact on whether the team wins or loses. The defense and special teams gave him countless oppurtunities to score and he squandered them.

I didn't say he had good targets or anything of the sort. He made bad decisions with the ball though, his passes were off target, and he looked entirely lost out there.
Then say he had bad ones, bad coaching and use it in your overall assessment. How do you leave that out of the equation when closing a book on a player as you did? I question anyone as stupid who'd say "so what" to that part. You altogether ignored it

I never get it.

Thing is with all the damage the jets did to him mentally as a quarterback and all the flaws he already had, I just don't see it. It's his 4th year in the league. Is there any sign of him turning the corner at this point? I haven't heard any news of it from anyone. It'd take several years at this point to undo the damage done to him and nobody gets that long a window to work with, not to mention the team doesn't have the time with the age of some of their guys. At this point you have to play your best guys. It's week 1 anyway. Unless a key player is lost to injury, this isn't the week to sweat this stuff.

it took me to bring up those things for you to even get to this post.
How do you prove that you turned the corner when you jaw got rocked forcing you to lose your spot?

I don't get it. You closed the door on a dude excluding all of those other factors and now moved to this.

You were short sighted period and just won't admit to it.

I'm well aware of everything that's gone on with geno. My entire immediate family are jet fans. Some rational, some not at all. Thing is he isn't sitting behind some star that makes an annual appearance on the all pro team. There was hardly a whisper I heard all summer about him looking good in camp or anything. If he's improved at all then it's news to me :manny:. There's a lot of reasons they lost this game, but it's one game, and benching Fitzpatrick for geno isn't something that in all likelihood would have made the difference based on what we've seen. Most guys don't have the turnaround that Drew Brees had in 2004. It'd be nice if he does, but at the moment, there's no reason to expect it.

You wasn't aware of it when closing the door on his career. Second, geno last few games as a starter exceeds what Fitz has done. We simply don't know of he'd make a difference. Yet you do based on things you completely ignored and had to be reminded of.

Your don't know anything about paragraphs or periods yet you think you can lecture anyone on football. If you have issue with what I say, argue it with football logic and facts, not run-on sentences and bullshyt.

I have already explained that if Fitz puts in even an average QB performance, we win the game. The defense cant hold a top 5 WR and top 10 QB forever. Fitz is 1-7 against teams .500 or above because he sucks and costs us the game, just like he did yesterday. The single most persistent and obvious factor in Fitz's bad record against good teams is HIM. Simple as that.

Geno is another issue and I won't go into detail about him, but he is more accurate than Fitz and has showed good potential over his last few games.

Well the you don't know what you're watching. We don't know if Geno would do better but there's a chance he might given his last few game performances. That's worth punting on and benching Fitz, because we already know from Fitz's record against good teams-- 1-7 -- Fitz isn't good enough.

It makes no sense to stick with a good we know isn't good enough over QBS who are or might be enough. That's a logically clarion enough delineation to start Geno or Petty.

I'd rather give Petty a shot if we're going to bench tragic...

I really like what I saw from Petty in preseason...Strong accurate arm, improved pocket presence and went through his read progression well...

Bottomline is anybody on the roster can do what tragic does...less than 5 yard dumps to Forte and bootlegs...You have two other qbs on the roster that can complete passes over 10 yards to WRs...We continue to march the guy out there that clearly can't...

I was at the game yesterday. My thoughts...

- Forte looked very good. Both rushing and receiving. I was afraid he was on the decline, but he looked very good.
- That D-Line looked vicious. And that was without Sheldon. I expect them to dominate this year
- Leonard Williams is going to be elite. Wouldn't mind if Sheldon became expendable.
- McLendon >>> Harrison. It's good to have a NT that can play 3 downs
- As great as the D-Line was, the secondary was just as good
- We're seeing the fall of Revis. He's DONE as an elite cover corner. Still good, but the days of him shutting down top receivers are OVER.
- If I have to continue seeing David Harris cover RBs and TEs, I'm gonna fukking puke,
- Fitz was Fitz. Had his moments, but was limited as usual. Cincy's corners were sitting on their routes because they knew Fitz couldn't beat them deep.
- If Fitz keeps running around like he does, he's definitely gonna get hurt.
- O-Line looked very good

There was some good and some bad. Overall it's definitely gonna be as rough season for us because of the QB and secondary. Neither are very good
