The issues of this current team were the spending done by Maccagnan two years ago. Culmination of awful signings and bad drafts.
You played a part being a Jet fan calling for the "best option available" return and an idiot owner who listens to your calls. You believed Fitz was a change agent. Woody heard you and other Jets fans. And now we all pay for it as you act as if you played no part in this mess.

lol. I'm literally the only person here that has defended what Idzik was doing(gut the roster and loosen up the cap) because he at least had a plan. You guys all wanted him fired because he wouldn't spend on everything you wanted. We have Tannenbaum part 2. The 2016 team would have been old, slow, crappy and expensive regardless of Fitz being brought back. The idea of rebuilding was thrown out the window he second Maccagnan started spending like a fool prior to 2015.

This isn't about idzik. You stay skirting

I didn't want him fired and cared neither way. I was livid about the Saunders pick

You loudly wanted Fitz back. You were a part of the problem. Our base is reactionary dumb

This season wouldn't have been any different if any of the other bad QB's played. There was no rebuild happening once you max out the cap on veterans and start trading picks for players.not to mention bad drafting too.

You said this season would be different with the addition of Fitz.

Again, your skirting being a part of the problem

Only reason I wanted him back was because this was an old team and he was better than the other 3 on the roster. Once Maccagnan went all in 2 years ago there wasn't much of a choice. I've maintained from the beginning this Tannenbaum method of building a franchise doesn't work.

Wrong. A lot of us wanted him fired because he couldn't draft and was an idiot when he talked. If he had actual drafting ability nobody would be asking to spend to fill needs because they'd be filled by youngins with promise. You're forever in denial about this

Who has Maccagnan drafted?

The way you draft well is generally by having picks. The successful drafting teams generally have at least 8 per draft, something Idzik understood. There isn't a team in the league that hits on most picks. Franchises like Seattle, New England etc have all had boner picks but they give themselves the best odds of having successful drafts, which the Jets don't.

We all said that :mindblown:

Jets fans (NY in general) don't wanna rebuild but if you draft good young talent we'll turn into Elmyra from Tiny Toons. Woody's more dead set against rebuilding than anyone

The owner is the biggest problem

Why do you keep countering with Maccagnan as if I'm vouching to keep him around?

The way you draft well is by drafting well. Having picks is good, but you can blow a ton of picks too. You can squander assets no matter how much you have of it.

Who are these GM's who hit on picks at a rate that meets your expectations?

While that's what the Jets should do The NFL is different though very rarely do teams destroy and rebuild like the other sports because teams change drastically year to year anyway and teams always think they have a shot the next year because of how things quickly change in the NFL. Add in coaches and gms very rarely have the job security in the NFL to be able to be shytty for a few years

Teams may strip it down a year if a Luck level qb is in the draft but you very rarely see a few years purposeful rebuild. The Browns are the first team in awhile saying we aren't gonna win for a few years we're gonna strip it down and collect picks for the next few years

Look around. Most teams are able to find contributors either late in the draft or as UDFA's. The Jets have been awful at this for years

The way you hit on late round picks is by hoarding them. Comp picks etc. you can't have 6 picks every year and expect to build young talent. Enunwa was a good example of this.
