Has nothing to do with copying. The supply and demand for guards favors the teams not the players. You have a surplus at the position, which allows teams to allot resources elsewhere.
He was getting that money in the open market. So what's your point?

They don't have a surplus at the position though. They have their starting guards. Now they can focus their resources elsewhere. Otherwise you don't have anything worthwhile to replace him and that's another hole to fill.

Sure. Still overpaid for a position that's easy to replace.

Cimini makes it sound like BMarshall being gone is fait accompli:

Wide receiver Brandon Marshall, the franchise's most high-profile player over the past two years, will be released. He will be 33 years old in March, his production dropped significantly and he's due to make a non-guaranteed $7.5 million in 2017. He was also a distraction in the locker room. His boisterous style chafed teammates, creating factions. For the sake of team chemistry, it's probably best to move on from Marshall and lean on the team's young receivers. -- Rich Cimini

I wouldn't shed any tears if he left. Have fun on Inside the NFL Brandon.

Still wish we could get something for him. We got him for a 5th, if we could get that, at least, I'd be happy.

I won't cry if Marshall is released. Let him go be on a contender or whatever.

We need to give our young WRS reps.

Let enunwa role increase, give more reps to the young guys

There's no reason Devin smith should be on the bench while b marsh is getting reps.

A year under his belt I'm looking forward to seeing more of robbie Anderson.

If George his set becomes jets next offensive coordinator that would be a move for Christian Hackenberg, seeing as he played his best in that system.

I disagree. I really think we move on from Hack. No inkling that he's going to be anything at all. Gotta consider him a scratch at this point and a lesson learned.

2017 off-season thread: Who cares we're gonna suck anyway
Agreed. Who's starting it and when?
